Gun/Rifle hlep/info

Most you you guys know nothing about guns or ballistics.
if you want something that will soot long ranges accurately, get a bolt action.
Remington 700 line are nice, but I like the Browning A-bolt a lot personally....someone mentioned SIG, and they are right, SIG makes outstanding firearms, but you won't get one new for what you wanna spend, maybe check out a gun show and see what you can find there.
The min-14 isn't a really accurate gun, it's fun to shoot (I've actually put more rounds through it's class III full-auto counterpart - the AC556) and has relatively cheap ammo, but not that accurate.
22-250 is a good round for you as it shoots pretty flat and is generally very accurate.
223 is one to consider, but doesn't shoot as flat.
308 would be a great option, but the ammo is more expensive and the recoil will be a lot greater.

it is like 10 steps away from me.

And to the guy above. You are right I dont know much about ballistics but my roommate just got back from 2 terms in Iraq so he knows a lot.

Just because he served two tours in iraq ( no disrespect, my dad is USAF) doesn't mean he knows anything about ballistics or trajectory of different powders, different grain bullets and the like, it's a very complex system.

No he does. He now teaches new guys and guard people about that as his job as long. He is a drill sargent one weekend a month. he know his shit and talk me some. I know about grains and how it affects trajectory and shit. I know it doesnt matter Im not him but yeah lol I am just going to steal an M2 (I think thats a 50 cal) and just have that haha
