So i kinda want to get into shooting guns, and I don't know where to start.

Do they have gun ranges that'll rent you a gun to shoot, or do I have to go out and buy one.

also is there an age limit to shoot a gun at a range

how much would it cost to rent a gun at a range if they do infact rent guns

any help would be appreciated.
 
im canadian and i heard there is a gun range in buffalo (from toronto)apparently they have guns there that i can shoot. is this possible? will my citizenship be a problem?
 
Your first step is to get your FID Card first, in order to do this you must take the hunter safety course before you can even acquire a weapon. But hey, buy yourself a gun and shoot away! Licensed or not.
 
michigan has ranges spread out all around, and most people at the very least know someone with guns they could try out. how old are you? what kind of shooting are you going to be doing? i've been shooting like a mad man as of late, 1500 rounds through a pistol so far this week. next week is shotgun/ar
 
Theres a gun range in the basement of my school from ww2 when the conscription without conscription law was up or some shit ...

But i live in ottawa and i have gone shooting at Cannaught before and we just rented a station and shot as much as we wanted. Skeet Shooting is way more fun tho. Shootin Shit out of the air is awesome.

get a ruger 10/22. fun, inexpensive, and the ammo is cheap as fuck. go camping or plink in your yard for a while (i actually know someone who did this). then just by the biggest fucking gun you can find
 
Unfortunately, the times when you could just go somewhere remote and set up some cans seem to be almost completely gone. I was trying to find a place where I could go shoot a 22 rifle near Denver. It's pretty hard to find places. There are plenty of gun ranges that charge you $15 to shoot. Renting a gun is a whole different story. I suggest google it and make some calls.
 
If you are willing to buy a can, it is possible to find places to shoot. There are plenty of places with enough room, it is just that people tend to call the police when they hear the bang bang.
 
WA thankfully has not succumb to gun ranges being the only option. I shoot every couple days in the woods setting up what ever i want to blast at. Legally
 
It would be a little tough to bring this to the range. Not very practical for home defense either. Shit! I left my 33mm Vulcan in my glove compartment!

id suggest calling up a gun store or gun range around you, ask them if they rent guns, or if they know of a place that does. ive been shooting for a couple years now, and recently its become an obsession, its insanely fun. im saving up right now for an ak 47 or 74, i figure an ak should really be in everyones collection if you own multiple guns, if there is one, "best" gun, the ak is it. im going to get a tax stamp and silencer for it, which is gonna be around 1000 to do it right, not including the gun :( but a silenced ak would be the shit.
anyway... id suggest that you buy a legit 22 rifle. a 22mag bolt action would be ideal, it will teach you sooooo much, start with the iron sights (if it has them) learn how to use them extremely well, then start to use a scope, 22 mag will hit somewhat accurately out past 200 yards, and its a very cheap way to learn how to use a rifle effectively and accurately.
id suggest not shooting any animals until you are sure your a good shot. while i dont care much for rodents like rabbits and ground hogs, i never like to see one crawl around for 10 minutes before it dies because of a poorly placed shot. and learn to skin and tan furs, you can use rabbit furs to make some awesome things. and rabbit can taste pretty good too. then you can move up to coyotes, which also have an awesome fur. 22 mag is also much much more effective at killing animals, you can take down a coyote in one decently placed shot, and kill it right away.
