Lol I’m somehow a mYsOgInIsT for acknowledging that women don’t fill combat roles and thin skinned at the same time. Too good.

I will agree with you on the baby dick comment though. You should see this thing, it is small.

a gun is a metal dick used to compensate for somebody who is insecure about something.......

use a sword or ur fists like a real man

but on the real tho. I also was also lookin towards getting a gun cuz I wanna do a little bird hunting, but the local culture around guns up here in the northwoods is fuckin terrifying and uninviting that I haven't even thought about that recently

She was shitting on dudes that dress in full combat gear at the range that probably never saw combat. Your comment only would make sense if she, herself, wore combat gear at the range, which I doubt she does.

You probably know gun owners. The easiest way to learn is to find a buddy who knows their stuff. I had a buddy into guns who kind of got me up to speed. He had quite a few and even had an elephant gun. That thing was insane. Its rebound doesn’t kick. It like rolls. You feel the recoil build and then push and you have to take a step back or it’ll hurt you

Honestly a good move. My buddy has a couple vintage shotguns and lever action rifles. I want an old break barrel over/under shotgun so I should probably talk to him about that.

goddaamn, yea Ive heard about those, shit is crazy

Yeah maybe she shouldn’t be shitting on people while complaining about feeling excluded from the hobby. Just a thought.

I don’t personally rock a plate carrier or helmet or anything but if people want to enjoy those things and train with them then who the hell is she to judge them. She previously complained about being judged by men in gun shops and then comes out making fun of people for enjoying their hobby. Seems kinda hypocritical to me.

OMG GUNS, more people die of heart disease times 1,000. How about we worry about the real problems in America if we pretend to actually care about other people's safety.

What a joke!

When you see blue truck its a blue truck. When someone says something sexist its sexist. What was said was sexist, because it was said in a demeaning manner to someone of the opposite sex.

Damn is that the definition of sexism? Okay then I guess what she said was sexist too and she was sexist first since she decided to demean men in the gun community by calling them “tactical tommys”. What I said wasn’t intended to be sexist but more of an observation of fact (women do not fill combat roles in the armed forces) and hypocrisy. Like I said earlier though, take it how you want. I really don’t care.

your “observations of the gun community” obviously need to be taken with a grain of salt too considering that you don’t even understand the concept of a private club. Do you also go to private golf clubs and get upset when they don’t let you play a round? You sound like a naive little child coming on here to complain lmao.

Definition of sexism

1: prejudice or discrimination based on sex especially : discrimination against women

2 : behavior, conditions, or attitudes that foster stereotypes of social roles based on sex

Sourcehttps://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/sexism

Never complained just stating what happened and how simple questions about the how the range worked turned into someone getting upset with me that I wasn't looking to visit the range 3-5 days a week.

Oh BTW talked to people about that place and more than one said they were allowed to shoot there a few times for free but never joined the club and not one were surprised when I mentioned what happened to me, there is a reason they didnt join after getting to use it free of charge.

and

2) “we aren’t weird! You’re weird!”

well I didn’t discriminate against her so I’m assuming you think the prejudice part applies to me. Let’s look at the definition of the prejudice:

“preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience.”

are you trying to say that my preconceived opinion that women do not fill combat rolls in the armed forces is not based on reason or actual experience? Because I can assure you it is.

So not only have you gone back on your definition of sexism but even by the dictionary definition my remark wasn’t sexist.

14463516:Young_patty said:

I recently purchased a handgun to bring along on long bushwhacking hikes and the experience of the whole process has been weird. To start with went to a few gun stores, soon as I walked in not wearing camo or Trump gear I could feel the side eyes staring me down. Every store I went to got the vibe they didn't want to help me. After visiting three shops and seeing literally the same guys working at each one, unstable fat 50-year-old men that despise life itself, I decided to go to a large box store instead and was helped out way more than any of the private gun stores.

I have the gun now and I know of a few ranges in the area so I have been stopping at them and asking about how to fire at them. One encounter was especially memorable. One range was setting up for a shooting event and I ended up talking to an old man that claimed to be the president of the range. He told me it cost $250 a year to use the range, I told him I'm only looking to sight in my gun and asked about day passes or a monthly membership. At that point, he turns and mumbles you're not an active shooter, are you? Then goes on a rant how everyone that is a member spends at least 3-5 days firing at the range, and how it would be unfair to just allow me into the range to sight in one gun. I'm listening thinking this has nothing to do with anything I asked, to avoid the confutation he wanted to get into I simply asked again.

Are there day passes or anything like that? To which he snapped back no just the yearly one and went on to list what it includes as he is doing this he points to a large firing field and says that is open to the public. I hear this and said oh ok so this area is free for public use, and he snaps back again and says no not for handguns only shotguns and rifles, I asked back so I could use this field if I had either one of those and once again he got mad for me questioning his all over the place rant. He speaks a little louder and says no you need to be a member, at this point his wife steps in and says well you did say it was free for public use, he glares at her and she said no your right.

He is clearly pissed off someone that who doesn't shoot 3-5 times a week is asking to use the range, I recognize this and try to claim him down by asking if he knows of any other ranges that do allow it. He yelled out a few places and then went on to rant about how terrible they are and how one is state-run and that set him off on another rabbit hole about how messed up the politics in the state are about guns. We are about 4 feet away from each other during this conversation next thing I know another member just walks in between us as if I'm not even there. I used that as my exit because I really don't want to be around people that mad over nothing that also happens to be holding loaded guns.

What is wrong with gun people? They are pissed off, they want everyone to own a gun but if you don't shoot it all the time they get mad at you. They don't want to help anyone looking to purchase products at their stores. It's fucking a weird world they live in and I don't get it.

The only thing I can think of is that these unstable men are so scared of the changing world around them that they are holding onto things they think they can control. One of those things is guns, and when someone younger like myself that looks at a gun as a tool and not as a way of life it scares them and they act out the way you think they would, in fear and anger.

Dude you went to a members only club then got upset when they wouldn't be your personal concierge. They could probably smell bitch a mile away and didn't want to deal with someone who was gonna flag the entire firing line. Toughen up dude people aren't gonna pussyfoot around with you when it comes to firearms.

I grew up competing in shooting event(turkey shoots) I understand how to use a gun properly. This is why I stopped to ask about how the range works so I can understand how it handles and to sight it in. I was not aware the range was members only. I asked normal questions and got weird and angry answers. I'm not mad about it what so ever, it was more amusing than anything. It is completely ridiculous to get mad at someone for not wanting to shoot a gun multiple times a week. Something I forgot about the gun culture are the people in it I've been outside of it for a while now. Learned a lesson that it is full of weirdos that are not very stable and I'm better off finding a sandpit than interacting with them.

That's fair tbh

Another thing noticing, from what people on here are saying about using guns and how they think people that dont shoot all the time are going to shoot themselves. Why do you think this?

A gun is a weapon and like all weapons should be treated as such, there are safety measures that can be taken in order to make yourself and everyone around you safe. It isnt rocket science, its safety first and following steps to ensure the safety of everyone.

I'd bet a lot of people who say things like 'I grew up with guns' shot their grandpas 22lr twice in their life and need a decent amount of training to be safe nonetheless proficient. Kinda like skiing when people say 'oh I've skied my whole life' and are a trainwreck on the hill. Kooks exist everywhere in every aspect of life.

There are quite a few who are shockingly bad about safety.

In my hometown, two guys my age skipped school senior year. Smoked a little pot and decided to shoot at birds, rabbits, whatever. They were walking single file in the woods when one tripped and shot his best friend in the back of the head (pretty sure it was 22lr - not that it matters). Friend went into a coma and died. I went to the funeral and knew them both. It was awful. I can still remember where I was when I heard friend 1 was in a coma. The nicest guy ever. His nickname was Sunshine.

Honestly, I’ve had some fucking weird interactions like that at public ranges too. The best thing for me was having my veteran friends teach me, then my cousin who is a gunsmith. I’ve lucked out to have friends that are engineers that work for forearm companies teach me as well, but I quickly learned the range is about a place for me. I ah e my guns to hunt with, I sometimes get excited about them, but gun culture is not my fucking jam nor do I feel safe around those folks.

I'm a girl can you fight over me now?

I always thought it would be cool to duel wield vest soray. Spray at at the bear and spray yourself so you tast like ass. Unless you buy the "Jalepeno delight" version. Even bears like to spice up dinner when they can.

Your opinion of who should be allowed to use what kind of gun means absolutely nothing.
