Gum in Jean Pockets

What's the best way to get melted or stuck gum off of your jean pockets if you leave a piece in there over an extended period of time. Any tricks to this?

freezer+hammer

freeze the gum on the coldest setting on your freezer, take the pants out and immediately smash the gum with the hammer, it shatters off the fabric.

I think the oils in it along with being an abrasive are what helps get it out.

if the peanut butter/ice trick doesn't work, and you are somewhat sewing inclined, just cut it out of the pocket, and do a basic sewing stitch to patch up the whole with another piece of cloth. Super easy...super cheap, and it works
