Guitars

if you're just getting into it, buy a real cheap one, so then when you need to upgrade you'll have money left for something nicer that you want.

when i first started i had that squier. it was good and all and then i htink a year or 2 later i spent the extra money and you wont believe how much of a difference a 150 dollar guitar makes from a 500 dollar guitar. it sounds much better and is actually easier to play some how (i cant really describe how but it plays much smoother). so ya if youre on a lower budget definitely go for one of those but definitely go try it out in a store because you really should feel the difference between a strat style guitar and a les paul style one because a les paul is heavier and bulkier so go and try it out so you make the right decision. good luck

keep saving. dont waste your money on something that will be worthless once you move up. if you know its something you want to stick with, buy something you wont grow out of in a year.

dont even bother with any electric guitars in that price range, you will be very unhappy with that squier. if you dont already own a nice acoustic, i would say get a nice cheaper acoustic. i own two acoustics, a 200 dollar fender that was my first guitar and a 1100 dollar martin. i still play the fender, it was a good purchase. but really, for electrics, at least try and spend in the 300 range, a mexican strat is a HUGE step up from a squier.

that les paul looks alrightm, i play an ibanez and it sounds ok for metal adn stuff, its a cheap one too, mind you ive played my friends strat adn my other friends '64 duo-sonic-2 and they do play a lot better and sound way nicer but if your just starting one of those would be fine

buy a used FENDER, not squier, off ebay. it is a much better deal if your looking for perfomance more than looks

in the 100-200 dollar range, you should go for the squire for sure. it cant get any better really. i have one and it's kickass. and after your gonna wanna get a better amp if your really into it. you should spend more on your amp than guitar. your amp drives most of your tone, not your guitar. but dont be a whore and just practice. if you sound like shit its not your equipment, its you. my guitar teacher always tells me that your favourite guitarists can pick up your guitar setup and still sound the same.

I'm sorry, but I hate fender and squire. I've played every strat and tele and the only one I liked was my friend's scalloped 52 telecaster reissue.

The best cheap guitar, HANDS DOWN, is the Dean Evo Xm. its $99, gibson style body. Its absolutely gorgeous, the action out of the box was excellent and the pickups have decent tone for a pair of single coils. For acoustic I have a Fullerton, again, $99 and it's an excellent deal.

Trust me on the Dean Evo though, go play one at a local shop, and compare it side by side to those cheap-ass strats. I've played every cheap guitar out there and Dean is choice.
