so im trading my ibanez for a samick with emg pickups(HSS) and a marshall amp,

i need to get a new pickguard for it and i was thinking, no preamp, just a volume control, and a les paul style pickkup selector

comments?

marshall amps are dope, you cant go wrong with that. im stuck with a small fender amp and it really sucks the life out of my tone when i crank the volume.

ye, i already have a marshall, this ones just alot nicer

thats why i was gonna pull the tone knobs out of the samick cause the pickups are dope and the amp is dope, i dont need a cheap preamp i dont think

your gonna have tone control right...

and yea the les paul controls sound sweet, i have a samick guitar, and its not bad, but im buying a 1980s fernandez strat knock off.

the thing about the les paul controls is that you can have a killswitch

have you played with a killswitch before ive always wondered what they

would be like or sound like in real life, ive just seen vids of buckethead on youtube

playing wit a killswitch and it sounds amazing

why would you eliminate your on-guitar tone knob? not having an active preamp makes sense, since most guitars don't, but keep the tone knob!

Get an AVT or JMP combo if you're going to get a marshall. They kill the clean and the metal, and everything in between. And don't get EMG single coils. get some DiMarzio hot rails or some lace sensor Fender singles. They sound orgasmic.

the amp is an mg30dfx, not the best but it sounds good

and the emg's are 2 single coils and a humbucker

the lace sensors would be nice though
