Does anybody know of a program where I can plug my guitar into my laptop microphone and have it run effects over it, just like a pedal?

We have an old saying down on the bayou....Blehhhhh!!!

Native Instruments has a program for that.

It made the cover of Future music magazine in August I think...

It's super epic, and it does what you're talking about. I think you might need to get an external firewire hookup though. Check out www.futuremusic.co.uk, they might have the review on it.

program is crazy, u can plug in ur guitar if u have an amp/usb attachment and u can use hundreds of real amps and change effects, u can record over real songs, do anything. plus its super easy to use and comes with all new macs

Program by native instruments is called guitar studio. Read about it... it even comes with a comprehensive footswitch to control the program while you're playing.
