Guess how much candide makes a year...

the worst part is most of the guys on that list dont need the money anyway because its only a sliver of how much their rich parents pour into them. wooooo skiing

hahahahaha not all baseball players make 10 mill +

the good ones do

a lot do not make anything CLOSE to 10 million a year

it can be in the hundred thousands

i agree in some aspects. all of the major skiiers on the lists people have been posting risk much more than baseball players and in a lot of cases, are better athletes than pro baseball players (I.E Anyone on that list against Curt Schilling or David Wells)

But the league minimum for baseball is 316 thousand. So that's something to be considered as well.

they are not their parents dude. you're saying that because someone's parents have money, that person doesn't deserve anything? that's just retarded man. whoever's the best, get's the cash. simple as that.

no i think i read the same article. he doesnt have one, he was just next to it. it said he has like a tricked out BMW M5 or something similar

Cedric is an icon for sure, but you show me any slopestyle contest in the next few years where he gets top 10. Isn't going to happen, saying that he basically everything and is greatly liked and respected.

My guess for Candide is around 500,000 yearly from all of his sponser combined.

bibby...no

pollard, yes

phils=washed up

seth=killing it, not really in this category though

rory b=killin with msp

gagnier, over the other 'no's'

and olenick, i bet he makes more $$ than bibby and jacob and the phils

just a few ideas

skiing is way more widely recognize in Europe thats y candide and jon are making mad skrilla cause so many people live for skiing in Europe

its not whose the best, or who risks the most, its who sells the most. soccer players get paid bank because they sell shit to millions of people. skiers sell twin tips to roughly 400,000 people.

If you think its unjust how much soccer players, actors or hockey players get paid never watch a game or a movie again because that is exactly why they get paid.

I can see that being true. I am just saying big names like Tanner, TJ, Seth, Sammy and a few others really are pretty set in there bank accounts> As for AM's I am not too sure, I bet you are right though.

Hmmmm.....I better check into that....LOL..JK. That is pretty cool though, to get a free car and all. Like in the Super Bowl, that guy got a new Cadi.

i can think of 2 contests that give away cars. the ski tour overall winner got a new honda and the icer air winner got a new toyota.

and i find it highly unlikely that a car company would give away a car to a pro skier. maybe somebody like lebron james or tiger woods, but other than a HIGH profile athlete, i dont see it happening, especially in the ski industry, buddy.

candide makes around 300 g year as base sallery , from Rossi alone add that to 250 a year + from quiksilver (possibly more), all travel is paid for, and he would probably receive a matched winning bonus system ( ie 10 g for a comp quik and rossi will match that ) + 25 g or so a year from dakine, and then he has a film budget from them and other sponsors of the movie . candide is the highest paid from skier followed by jon, tanner, dumont... ect. ect.

McConkey makes alot too. He owns two houses in Tahoe and plenty of other property. Guerlain Chicherit also makes multiples of six figures. Kreitler has made some good money too.

The reason pro skiers and snowboarders and surfers seem like they make a lot of money is that they don't need the same stuff that regular people need all the time. Most pro extreme sports athletes get clothes, luggage, airfare, and equipment to do their job for free. Throw in a average salary like 40-50K and a lot of them can afford a mortgage with utilities, furniture, food, etc. I know people who only make 35K a year and they can afford a mortgage, a car, all the necessities, and extra that they don't need. To be a pro extreme sports athlete, you don't have to make that much money. Many things just get handed over to you because of the hookups you have in the industry. Besides that, how expensive is it for your family to grow up in Vail, Tahoe, Mammoth, Chamonix, Are, etc. etc? I don't think any of those places have many "poor" people. And to be able to ski all day every day, which is why the pros are the pros and the regular kids are regular kids, costs a lot of money. It just takes a little thought to put it in perspective, so after my rant, my conclusion is that many pro extreme sports athletes (nowadays, since most extreme sports nowadays begin as expensive hobbies before one turns pro) have some opportunities and grow up in the right environment to be successful at what they do, so they don't really need too much money. But I'm pretty sure that Sammy Carlson and Seth Morrison had part time jobs in high school.

exactly. they may not make an absolute heap of cash, but they dont have the same expenditure as a lot us non pro skiers. free accom (all year round), lift pass, car rental, equipment and outerwear. thats already into the 10's of thousands of $$'s that the rest of us would have to pay.
