i enjoy the musical stylings of mr. khalifa, slightly more than those of gucci mane, ik i copied his twitter, where do you think i got it from...

terrible lyrics, just generic hip pop... im not hating on him, as i have no musical talent whatsoevery, so cant claim to be better than him, but there is a whole lot more to real hip hop and rap than just shouting about how much money and drugs you have.

i think guccis kinda in his own thing, if he rapped like a "normal rapper" ie weezy or any other radio rap, his flow would be so wack. me and my roomates were talking about it, we couldnt figure out why it works, but whatever hes doin with his wacky beats and retard lyrics is working imo.

but i agree with you i dont take him as seriously as wiz, or any other artist who actually has some respect in the music industry haha.

and i gave dilla a shot, one of his albums i dled, sucked , earlier tonight i dled donuts, adn its garbo imo, too much beats, not enough lyrics, the beats are too mellow, and his voice( as j dilla at least) is too quiet/relaxed and dosent amke listening to him interesting.

imo of course.
 
yea fair enough point, i think i just have a real thing against songs like "my kitchen" or whatever its called idk, like its just not really about anything, and it is definately not timeless. i think the biggest killer is the beat as well, like its just a same old top 40 beat.

yea dilla isnt the easiest to listen to, but i just love the samples and stuff, and you do have to appreciate the mans skill. lke the amount of stuff he puts in those beats and still manages to keep them silky.

i think relaxed is def what im all about, love just laxing out to that shit, but anyway heres a couple of my favourite hip hop tracks, just to compare to the stuff gucci is putting out.

wiz has some skills though!

no way gucci mane's beats are nothing close to top 40 beats. they all are dirty south beats with heavy bass, basic hi hat and snare loops, and sampleless synth lines. it's different than whats on the radio. i like it though its fun to listen to when skiing.

stop taking yourself so seriously...i guarantee you my knowledge of what you would consider "real hip hop" is easily as broad as yours...it is basically all i listen to... but sometimes i like to fuck around and listen to shit like this.
