What a coincidence, I just made a huge batch of guacamole. I am eating it right now, and it's awesome. The tub is heavy, since I made it with 12 avocados haha.

Damn dude, thats fuckin badass!! usually make 1-3 at a time, but I might have to start mass producingl.. Dunno if I can afford all the chips tp eat all taht shit tjo!

guacamole is the best thing ever, aside from salsa, cheese, and tortilla chips. i really like putting fresh chopped tomatoes in mine, and sometimes hot sauce unless i am using really hot salsa already
i make nachos every single day after spring skiing, and then sit on my driveway and eat them in the sunshine. it's seriously the best.

Ya, it's a huge tub of yummy goodness. It seriously weighs several pounds. Your ingredients list was missing some important things, the most important being lime juice. The lime juice adds flavor and preserves the avocados due to the citric acid. So if you do make a surplus make sure to add that lime juice to prevent harsh browning.

One time I walked into a ralphs store and at the front was a glorious sight, a sale of 3 large haas avocados for $1. I bought 48 avocados for $16, it was insane how much guacamole I made.

Holy shit thats sweet ha I consider myself lucky to get 1 for a dollar this time of year.

Anyway, yes you are totally right about the lime juice, I usually do use it. I just moved out of my parents house, so I am still building up my kitchen. I don't mind it without, and I find it very easy to put in too much and overpower the avocado flavor (My mom always does this) Plus whatever I make gets eaten within 10 mins or so ha

I've played around with a ton of different ingredients and my "recipe" is the combo I have found to be the most delicious. Most people think mine is the best they have ever had and I think so too most of the time, so I don't fux wit it ahha

My recipe:

Avocados (obviously)

Diced heirloom tomatoes

Chopped shallots

A clove or two of garlic,

Cilantro (grown in back yard)

Lime juice (just a little)

Spicy chili peppers, chopped finely (grown in backyard)

GOOD tortilla chips, none of that tostitos shit. They're good, but good guacamole deserves better.

I NEVER EVER put sour cream in my guac, I just think it completely ruins it. I'm no fan of sour cream, ever.

Loveeee guac! My Mom makes like the best.....I'm not sure on the recipe but maybe I will ask her and put it up later. Now I'm really craving it! hahaha

The key to guacamole is a good molcajete:

guacamole2005_2.jpg

Recipe:

Grind together in Molcajete:

Finely chopped onions

Chopped Jalapeño

Cilantro

Then mix in:

Avocado

Tomato

Salt

Lime Juice

oh I like to mix in a little bit of salt then heat it up in a spoon, that extract makes the guacamole superb.

Poop I didn't mean to post yet. My recipe is 2 avacados, half of a diced onion, half of a squeezed lime, teaspoon of salt, one diced jalapeño, and a liberal amount of finely chopped cilantro. Om nom nom.

this is how i do it...

avocados

lemon juice

pretty sure thats it i never remember anything else that you're suppose to put in quackamole

Guacamole is the best!

I make mine with avocado, tomatoes, onions, jalapeño, lots of cilantro, and some lime juice.

Loving this appreciation thread!

To keep your delicious guac from turning brown, leave the avocado pit in it (sounds crazy, but it works), or stir in some lemon juice.

Veggie sub at quiznos is better than subway for 1 reason, and 1 reason only

You know what it is.

The only issue with guacamole, is there never seems to be enough of it.

im thinking of a new recipe and want some thoughts

-avocados

-cilantro

-lime juice (squeezed)

-chopped onion

-chopped tomato

-salt extract

-jalapeño

also, those are my basic ingredients that will be in the guac regardless. if anyone has any suggestions, they are welcome, but i'll only really consider new spices.

so, any suggested spices?
