GTNS - Best mountain in CT????

Sense Saddleback wont give me a ticket with instructor reciprocity, I figure Ill hit a mountain in CT instead to add another state to the list. What mountain in CT has the best park that I should go check out. This will probably be happening next Wed, 3/12 I think. I know literally nothing about CT mountains!

Well, the choices are Ski Sundown, Mount Southington, Powder Ridge, and Woodbury. Sundown easily has the best park crew I've seen here, however I've only been here a couple seasons.

woodbury = preseason/rowtoping and set up your own stuff 50$, park depends on you

southington = more of snowboarder set up, and the kids there are fucking douches, 1 park

sundown = 2 parks, great set up/maintenance

powder ridge = the jump has a weird knuckle, requires helmets

Ha, Wednesdays are basically my only day off.

I would completely disregard Woodbury and Powder Ridge, neither really get it. Woodbury doesn't even have a park crew, kids just set up what they want...they barely have a lift. Powder Ridge has been going off of basically a few nights worth of snowmaking and whatever natural snow we've gotten. Haven't been there, but seen pictures...seems terrifying. Southington is small, but fun, one park roughly 10 features or so. Sundown has 2 parks, currently 20 features on the hill and more snow than we know what to do with.

Powder Ridge just opened and I really want to go there, but I also watched a video of Southingtons setup and it looked pretty fun. There is also Sundown. These 3 are pretty much your best bet

Doesn't matter, weather is gonna be shit tomorrow....stay north where there's a chance of some snow...45 and rain in CT tomorrow, lame.

Yup, Ill be staying north, going to ski Sunapee today. I still do hope to get down there but it is a 3 hour drive for me to hit it.

Sundown would be great.

I'd also recomend Butternut in MA, Just off the border of CT. If you talk to Bruce, I'm sure he will hook up up with a ticket, if not, its only 25 on week days. Park set up is super fun, about 40 features with endless creative lines.

He can get a ticket because he's an instructor. There's a reciprocity program among most mountains on the east coast.

Yes indeed I can, its a super great program. Anyway I am still hoping to get to Sundown, its just an ultra long drive for such a small place. 3 hours or so for me so I am still debating it.

I thought that was a great idea until I looked at where butternut is. Extreme western edge of mass would add like...2 hours of driving into the mix. Ski Ward however, is a possibility.

Well my Ski-Ward idea is out, their season ends this upcoming Sunday. Thats a disappointment =(. I suppose I can stop at Mcintyer on the way down just for giggles.
