GT going under?

I read on one mountain bike site that GT was going to be bought out by Huffy. I just want to know if anyone else has heard this and if it is even true

 
Nope dont know but i hope not cause GT makes sum really kewl stuff even though i ride a Trek

GT/Schwinn is the same company and they will probably end up in receivership by the fall.

Don't buy anything from them unless you don't care about not having a warranty.

i wanna get a bike, but i dont wanna spen like $1000 on one. whats a good bike for not too expensive?

im also looking to get a bike so i dont have to borrow my friends all the time to ride.

im thinkin like a gary fisher sugar 4 or hoo koo e koo or big sur or sometihng like that. or a specialized hardrock fs comp or rockhopper full suspension

yea GT/Schwinn is being bought buy huffy...which sucks cuz schwinn and gt are sweet and fuckin huffy sucks! next summer i am gettin a kona stinky six tho

i have a hardrock comp fs and i think it is pretty good. Its not as good as the full supsension one you were looking at but is probably half the price

 
if ur really in to mountain biking don't get a hard rock...they suck (no offense big air) go with a rockhopper A1 comp...nice bike for not to much dough. or a giant sumthing...i can't remember the name, i'll get back to u on that but its like 700$ its a sweet bike for the price

i agree, by bike kind of does suck! The Rockhopper is way better, but i dind't have enough cash to by a rockhopper

 
know any ok bikes for around $200?

Well if you want some good bikes for less then 1000$, look for some ORYX bikes, they are made in quebec and are damn cheap for the qualitie, youn can get and all XTR oryx bike for 2000$

the sale isn't close to final yet, huffy, pacific and I believe the company that makes nautilus machines all are fighting for schwinn/GT. it is likely that they will use the schwinn name to sell bikes in places like wal-mart, and don't know waht they will do with GT. If you want to stay under $1000 I would stay with hartails. specialized, gary fisher, jamis, Giant, kona all have nice bikes in this price range.
