worth it or not im considering doing camp of champions or this since it is 1300 dollars cheaper and year round but camp of champions just looks so sick.

Save it for summer dude. It will be the best money spent of your life (although I've never been).

Grouse freestyle? Haha pfftt, get outta here

not really worth it, in my opinion. I know someone who was on the team and i didn't really see a big progression in his riding ability through out the year.

Can someone explain the freestyle program? I could find it on the Grouse website but can someone explain if it's worth it? I don't know anything about it

coc waaaaayy over grouse freestyle team... i didnt know there was a grouse one. i think there is just a vancouver freestyle team that goes there, not sure tho

Spend it on summer camp. When they say you progress a whole season in a week they mean it. Being able to ski with such an awesome atmosphere in the sickest park you've ever set foot in with a coach who is just as stoked as you are is an amazing experience. And did I mention it's warm and sunny? I imagine a local freestyle club would be pretty lame... Just ski with friends and get up as much as possible for the winter. Even if you can't afford summer camp I wouldn't spend $500 or whatever it is on a freestyle club; get yourself some new gear or save it instead.

I don't know anything about the grouse freestyle team, but I would take coaching for a year over a week at COC. People on this site will bash freestyle teams, but your basic mechanics will be so solid and will build a bigger foundation for way bigger tricks in the future.

speaking as someone who was heavily involved with the blackcomb freestyle ski club for several years, in my humble opinion, joining a freestyle ski team is the most enrichening long-term experience/coaching you can get. COC may be super fun, but it doesn't compare to the development you can get with trained coaches and a group of peers progressing together month over month, competition to competition. being in a freestyle program is hugely beneficial in regular structured competitions which definitely progresses your riding through preparatory training and then chancing it come game time. you develop strong lasting friendships with your team mates that are much deeper and stronger than a one week camp can forge. the people you meet in your freestyle team and at the associated competitions often are your ski buddies for many years to come, even after you may leave freestyle skiing. if you look at the pro freestyle skiers, the majority of them have freestyle backgrounds: tj schiller, anthony boronowski, tanner hall, candide thovex, josh bibby, mark abma, rory bushfield, etc etc.
summer camps are great, but they are very limited in scope, time, and attention. being a part of a freestyle team give you coaches who can take you freeskiing in the pow, show you the backcountry, teach you tricks in the park, and make you a better skier. period.
i don't know how vancouver freestyle is, but i highly recommend freestyle ski teams.

all the vancouver freestyle kids last year were so annoying. please dont join it, all they did was get in the way and piss people off.

i didnt want to be the first to say it but yea dont join it just make friends on grouse and u can progress soo easy
