who thinks this work be a sweet job

personaly it would be awsome build some big stufff to hit

you wouldnt be able to hit it much , maybe i dunno.

you work through the night and into the morning so your days hours are messed with,

there wouldent be law suits anyways, why do u think wen u buy a pass ur waving all your rights to sue..

are there cat drivers? or is it jsut the maitnence guys taking turns cuz it all depends ont hat if u were jsut the driver that would be sick cuz u can groom all night and ski all day and hopefully for free

I imagine grooming a park on a regular basis can do a number on your back(looking over your shoulder backing up many many times)

Hours do suck, pay is marginal, but its never boring. It takes your full concentration at all times, in the matter of seconds you can become a 17,000lb sled going down the hill fowards , backwards, or sideways. Building shit is cool, cabs are climate controlled and have mp3 player hookups. Blast the music and relax, wouldent wanna do anything else in the winter, very rewarding job.

I know the guy that does it sometimes at Brookvale, PEI where I used to ski and he doesn'e seem to enjoy it a huge amount. He's waaaayyyyy happier when he's teaching teh snowboard team. Seems like driving teh groomer would just be work, plus I'd be stressed out about driving a hugely expensive machine liek taht cause I wouldn't wanna break anything.

My dad used to drive snowcat, and this one new guy back in the day was refueling the cat, but he put the fuel into the hydraulics system instead of the gas tank...

Lesson learned, if you enjoy having money, don't fuck up a snowcat.

i think it would suck big time..you work really shitty hours, and just because you build a jump once in a while doesnt mean your entitled to, or have the time to hit it all the time

So many people are bitching about the "shitty hours." No full time job that would allow me to ski everyday has shitty hours in my book. If anything a 9-5 has "shitty hours" during the ski season.

when u start its a job, cos u groom all the minor stuff, once you get experiance under your belt and go into a specialist area like park grooming its amazingly rewarding. building kickers and seeing kid's psyced on them the next day is sweet and having a sweet manager is a bonus cos they dont mind if u steel the cat for a every once in a while to build a kicker in your secret spot.

my dad drove cats for over 20 years

he said they smoke a lot of weed

I am going to drive cats after school for a few years just to enjoy life and ski all the time.

where i ski, the groomers either work a 4-12 shift, which would be perfect- ski all day every day. or a 12-8am shift, which i would not like at all. but if you got the earlier shift, it could be pretty sweet.

I can imagine it being a dope job at a mtn that doesn't do night skiing; I'd do the 4-12 gig for sure.

I DO know that the 3rd shift hours for smaller (read: east coast) mtn that are open till 10pm SUCK. I built park for two years, which was a dope job, and when we had groomer time it was real fun, but the daily maintainance seems to suck from what the groomers (that aren't diehard ski/board people) say. Alot of people say it's boring; like mowing the lawn every night.

I love the machines though, they're a blast. I'm also mechanically (specifically driving-nically) inclined, I love driving things with big engines, so take that for what it's worth.

it'd be sick to be building parks, or just driving around for one season would be ok. But unless your totally lit it wouldnt be that fun for a life job

Haha he'd check it at work and when he gets home right after he finishes checking who said yes on his dating websites.

Funny thing is, he doesn't say yes to any of them anymore.
