Grip walk vs alpine

Grip walk is cool and all for the people who cant walk in ski boots but its anoying as fuck now trying to get alpine soles to rip og pivots and other good bindings. Anyone else run into this issue. Im currently ripping lange 130 and 140s and cant find soles for 2021 and a 2023 boot.

I had zero problems getting alpine DIN soles to swap onto my new K2 boots

You could put grip all afd plates on any old pivots and theyll work with gripwalk boots. I also have Sammy C’s ascendants and still ski some alpine afd’s on pivots (bc I don’t want to buy a million gripwalk afd plates) and it seems to work/release find overall.

sounds like a pivot moment

this post made by marker gang

Markers dont have this problem because all the pre-gripwalk models are already broken

Most shops should have some laying around and or might sell them if you’re lucky. Otherwise ordering online is a option if all fails.

team gripwalk ❌

team slipwalk ✅

i hate walking on gripwalks, it feels so unnatural. they do grip better than the alpine toes but i have a lot of old pivots. and i’m not going to order new afd for all the pairs

Everyone whose dissing gripwalk obviously hasnt done sketchy bootpacks or hikes. Yeah you can do it in normal soles, but im thankful for gw every headwaters hike at big sky

Bro I enjoyed gripwalk just walking down the hall to the slopes. It really does just make life easier.

My new boots are gripwalk and I was skeptical at first but they make street skiing so much easier. Climbing around on playgrounds, walking across roads and stairs, getting yourself on top of drops is so much easier. Honestly I wish there was an alpine boot with a vibram sole like I’ve got on my touring boots that would be sick af. I also have some old pivots but the bootfitter hooked me I with alpine toes and heels so I’m good to go there, but honestly I’m loving the gripwalk rn

I wasn’t impressed with grip walk. Only been on them one day and it was warm but I don’t really notice a difference.

Not sure what you mean by warm day? Grip walk soles have nothing to do with the temp. They make it easier to walk around in.

I know that. I meant there was no ice or hard pack to see if they even grip better. They make a negligible difference in walking on everything else.
