Grinding vs. sliding

"I'm going to grind the A-frame" I hear things like that way too much. I don't think anyone should use the term grinding anymore. At my hill I hear it a little too much, even some of my friends still say it. Plus saying that you slid a rail is a lot better than saying you ground or grinded a rail. The past-tense of grind just doesn't work very good. What's you opinion on this?
 
Here's a good idea: wear earplugs when you're in the park, that way you don't have to listen to all those little assholes calling tricks the wrong names. I know it's a HORRIBLE problem to deal with, but maybe you just shouldn't let something so trivial bother you so much.

It is grinding sorta tho. Metal edges on a metal rail...I can see why its sliding a box, but whatever floats your boat.
 
well, grind also means to have sex right? so i'd say, i'm gonna bone the shit out of that rail!

I try not to think about the damage that im doing to my skis when im hitting rails, and slide sounds a little less harsh than grind. So Im gonna go with railslide
 
i just call "grinds" or "slides" "SLIDERS" because it makes me think of little cheeseburgers. change-ups are "changeroos". when you case a jump, it's a "case-a-dilla". when you invent your own terminology, skiing is so much more fun.

ok, if you're stoned, i've found that the names can cause problems, especially if they involve food. they usually cause you to leave the hill to hunt down a mad burger with fries.
 
yoooooooooo dude, no dude, i dont get tired at the ski hills, wait. no hungy i . dont get hungy, usually i dont even eat lunch because i try to get in as many runs as possible. like today at kicking horse i didnt eat all day i just skied man, it was sooooooo illl. yea lunch sucks at the ski hill man wastes time. oh, and for spinning onto or off of a rail/box, refer to the spin in fractions of a "heli". "that was a 3/4 heli on to a slider with a 3/4 heli off."

Dude, if you are going to worry about verb tense, you should at least know that it "just doesn't work very well."

i say slide, i dont know grinding is just like UGH I FUCKIN GRINDED MY EDGES TO DUST where slide sounds smooth and sensual
 
I don't really think it matters. I guess if it gets to you that much you should seriously consider seeing a therapist because you must have mental issues to care that much about it
