Griffin is a super cool guy guy but check him out in Hunting Yeti the movie and the webisodes! He's got some pretty smooth creative stuff
 
Griffin is our highschool freesking coach for all of winter, its gonna be so dank cause he slays.
I don't think very many people know who he really is, besides like 4 or 5 not including me.
 
I heart Griffin. Skiing with him all last winter totally changed how I think about skiing. Super cool down to earth guy who loves the sport more than anyone else I know.
 
Pretty much nobody knows he was one of the firsts if not the first to actually ski backward and hit jumps doing so. way before the 1080 ski era.
 
Griffin definitely deserves mad props... He's been coaching at COC for so long in the summers and I think any skier who has been there can agree with me and say that he's not only influenced their skiing in some way but that he is super down to earth and positive which helps when you're shitting your pants about to learn your first backflip or whatever new trick. He is quite the hip hop artist now as well.
 
he beat candide, mark abma, and john symms at vegetate back in the 2001/2002 season with smooth switch 3s and 5s. also, one of the nicest, most selfless people you'll ever meet . . .
 
he definitely deserves WAY more credit for making skiing what it is today than he gets. I've never met the guy but from what people are saying my guess would be that he doesn't get the credit he deserves because it's really not about that for him at all, which I gotta say is pretty damned cool. I think it's also possible that one of the reasons he never "blew up" in the conventional sense is that if I recall from my super old (VHS old) ski flicks that I think he ditched his poles well before the ski industry at large was ready to accept polelessness as more than a fad.
 
He does deserve alot of credit. That and the guy has tonnes of energy, I was working with him for a day at COC settingup the housing and when we hit up lunch hes like jumping off benches and wall riding everthing in site down in the village.
 
Are there 2 different Griffens? Becuase the guy I know is kind of a d-bag. He skis like a chick most of the time and is hardly ever stoked about anything. He's constantly claiming everything he does and is always telling everyone around him that he invented twin tips. He's totally played. Same with that Frazier guy, I mean got off your high horse already, I'm sick of hearing about how rad you guys are.

I remember watching this Helly Hansen ski movie, Happy Happy from like 4 years ago and it has footage of Pollard in an interview saying Griffin Cummings was one of his biggest influences, then I was so psyched when I saw Griffin ski in Hunting Yeti, cause I had wanted to find out who this guy was ever since I saw that movie with Pollard saying that. Also for the longest time I thought he must be related to Jess Cummins somehow, and they just spelled/pronounced Cummins or Cummings wrong, lol.
 
Happy Happy still gets me more stoked to ski than a lot of much more recent ski flicks (Lifted is sweet too)
