green day overplayed?

is green day overplayed where anyone else lives? cuz they sure are here. the only song they play now is boulevard of broken dreams, and its played constantly. the only reason i listen to the radio is cuz thats all we have at work...

 
ya tu8rn the radio off, tha tis a good reel big fish cd.

anyways, there is somthing wrong with liking popular music, when it comes to ''punk'' bands like green day and good charlott. you think your rebellous, but your supporting the system. the very fact that they are on popular record labels alone makes them shit. it does against what punk music stands for.

greenday was soo good cuz it was stuff that wasnt on the radio all the time so you didnt get sick of it, but the new cd is definitely overplayed.

 
i have a funny feeling that if it wasnt for mtv and constant radio overplay half the music you think is horrible you would like. it seems the popular thing anymore is to dislike the bands that are popular which is a huge pandoras box. dont hate something because it is on mtv or the radio or cause all the little pop kids at school like it. hating popular music is just a stupid popular trend!

 
Greenday is waaaaay overplayed, and all their new stuff sucks too. But realize that by playing American Idiot over and over, they are proving the point of the song, That the majority of Americans are so pathetic that they listen to anything the media tells them, even if they are told to like something that is criticizing them. and hating popular music isn't a trend, its just what people who are acctually musicians, who recognize good musicians when they hear them, and who dont listen to what the radio says is 'cool' do.

 
All of the hardcore fans do you agree with me that it is getting annoying with all of these new kids who are listening to the band. I have been listening to Greenday since gradeschool...

your funny feeling is wrong ski bum. i dont like their music, becuase it is overproduced shit that has nothing to do with punk music and evrything to do with pop-culture. punk is supposed to be counter culture. infact, i dont care what their music sounds like, i wont like a band nearly as much (if at all) if they are signed on a major label.

yeah i actually liked broken dreams, but i guess when you hear something a gazillion times over. you get sick of it no matter what it is.

i've been a greenday fan since fuckings 5th grade...my friend saw them in Longview with like 20 other people before they became famous.

They're great. I love Dooie, I love Nimrod, Americna Idiot is actually a great album if you take the time to appreciate it for the 'rock opera' it really is. I bet half of you don't know that the entire album is a story.

Boulevard of Broken Dreasm - Good song, overplayed WAY too much.

Green Day has been aroudn forever, i've loved their stuff forever, and it is not grunge!!!

well, if they were a good band that i likes musically, then i would still like them, but if they were on a shitty popular lable, then i would like them less then i would otherwise (example, less then jake: i liked them alot more beofre they were on warner brothers records. this is partially due to the fact that being on warner brother recored, they are supporting making rich people richer all that shit... this is also due to the fact that when ltj signed on the warner, warner made their msuic style more polished and so on and that sucks)

my other point in saying that is that there are enough bands around that if 2 bands have a similar sound musically, but i like what the other wings about more, and they are on a better lable, then i will like that band better then the other.

the only song on the new album i really liked was Jesus of Suburbia, other than that i think their best album is International Superhits

I know that it is the cool thing to do to hate mainstream, but I don't like the new album because I don't like it. I don't listen to the radio or watch MTV. The new album sucks compared tot he old. Warning wasn't even that great.

I heard some shallow ass jock listening to Aesop rock the other day. Annoyed the crap out of me. He is too stupid to know anything that Aesop says, besides maybe the word "pussy". If you knew this guy you would probably be unhappy too.
 
totally. I listened to Dookie when i was in 3rd grade on a field trip. My friend said hey check these guys out. I heard basket case, and was hooked. I've been suggesting them for years. Kerplunk is one of my favorite albums, but i like the new stuff too. I had one friend that was always like "i want to buy new music. who's good?" and i would say Green Day, but she never went for it. Then all of a sudden American Idiot hits, and she calls me up saying "there's this new band that no one's heard of called Green Day, their album is AMAZING!" I mean whatever, they're making shitloads of money, but i listened to American Idiot from the day it was released 'till it hit the charts. now i can't really stomach it anymore. I'll stick with their older albums for now.
 
The only cool thing they have done was put american idiot out before the elections. Then fucking Mtv played way to much and took the meaning away from it. Some kids don't even know the lyrics they like it because it sounds good and everyone else listens to it.
 
Basically what is comes down too...You all can say ur hardcore and for the music but thats cuz u have no talent...If you are marketable and someone came along and said hey u can continue to roam the streets in a van making little or no money or u can take this huge tour bus all these girls and these millions of dollars... Totally, I used to be a fan but after hearing Boulevard of Broken Dreams, and Wake me up when september ends a billion times I can't stand it. The only song on that CD that doesn't make my ears bleed is Holiday and even that's getting tired.

o yea green day is horrible, it's not like they have any popular songs or anything. it's not like they've been on top of the music scene for years and years. It's not like they've ever put out a multiplat album. Seriously if you think green day is a bad band you're just ignorant, or you think it's cool to not like popular things just because they're popular. Get over it, weather you like them or not you cannot say they are a bad band. Just because you were still in your thomas the tank engine underwear when when insomniac dropped it's no reason to talk bad about a band who has accomplished as much as them.
 
i hated them since i was a little kid and especially now that they wear creepers and stretch jeans, like pretty much years after they shoulda matured into that. it just pissses me off that i had to pave the way with that shit then fucking tre cools fajote' ass walks in like hes johnny rotten. mutha ef that guy. but i pretty much hate anything that came outta the 90's especially greenday and nirvana
