Greatist band ever

like someone said above, it's all preference man. Now I don't hate the beatles, there music just wasnt that amazing, I like strawberry fields and lucy in the sky with diamonds but besides those ones, I really couldnt give a shit about the beatles. I've heard all of there songs too, i used to have a down syndrome autistic kid in my class in elementary school and to make him feel good we'd all listen to the beatles cause that was his favorite band.

as for the elvis debate and how he changed shit, no one would even be MOVING on stage if it wasnt for him, he was the first person to actually dance while singing, the media thought it was inappropriate, without him you wouldnt have hot girls on tv today shaking what there mama's gave them. now i dont really like elvis or anything i was just trying to find something to compare movement wise in music.

 
I know they haven't been around for too long, well, 15 years, but I'd say Spoon is one of the best bands I've ever heard. Also the obvious ones like The Beatles, The Who, probably the Cure, and Modest Mouse. Possibly Wilco as well.
 
I think Elvis was a bigger influence in music, but I like The Beatles' music too, so gave the cake to them.
