Greatest ski town?

This. Whistler is banger for just hanging out after a day of shredding. Après ski there is fun as hell

I haven't really been to any places other than mammoth...but mammoth has some legit stuff like the village . There is probably better though

My friend has a house 30 seconds from squaw, and it is a sick town went out there all feb. break and fuckin loved it

Breck. Everyone there is so nice. Not to mention there's alot to do. Great vibe and the Crape Shack is so fucking good doing marijuana LEGALLY of course.

I SPY HUCKLEBERRY'S, Govy camp doesnt have a lot of night life but its a really nice town and you can hop in the high cascade mini ramps super easily as long as you have a helmet, but only the one by the bridge the other one is too close to their home

lincoln/woodstock, nh (loon mountain also within driving distance of (WV about 25-30 min)) also close to plymouth which is great if you love blow (i dont condone it but everyone there who does anydrugs does blow)

When I was at Whistler this summer it seemed unreal so i think I'd have to agree with everyone and say that Whistler is probably the best.

Whistler if your into the whole clubbing and fancy bar scene, id much rather be in a smaller town with a more laid back vibe. Say nelson for example. Havent rode enough resorts in the us though to have a good opinion.

yuuuup

Whistler in the west and tremblant in the east have sick villages. But they also have a fake interwest co. feeling to them . I would say nelson or a nice colorado town are the best in North America. And the small villages in the alps that would be the best in the world.

that looks great. i CANNOT wait until i get out of high school and move out for college. damn.

it's late and i should probably get to sleep.

Dude Big Bear is the shit. Sick ass park and super cool people. Somewhat a little party culture here in SoCal. Come check it out man!

im gonna jump in here and rep for europe. I think tignes is one of the most sick places to be. as between tignes and the valley over (val d' isere) there is a tonne of sick terrain, the val park is one of the best parks in europe, val has follie douce, possibly the best apres ever and then tignes has an awesome nightlife and town, but isnt the jumped up town that val d' isere is. plus they get euro x which ices the cake.

North America may have the best parks but as far as Ski Town goes, Europe hands one.

- Better architecture

- More history/tradition

- Better scenery

- Better nightlife

- Better beer

- Hotter chicks

- 16yo alcohol

- Higher altitude

- more nationality represented.

- better ambiance

nuff said.

Whistler is a great time, but it is a highly manufactured resort destination experience.

As far as Ski Towns, my personal favorites have to be:

- Nelson BC

- Jackson WY

- Methven NZ South Island

All just have a very chill atmosphere, and feel like they embody the ski town feel to me.

I say Breck, Steamboat, Telluride or Silverton. All are good and all have god mountains. Especially Silverton.

Breckenridge, Park City, Vail, Whistler...all of these cities were manufactured with the sole purpose of skiing. At least within the past fifty years. Where's the soul? Where's the life? Where's the story?

My vote is for Sandpoint, ID.

Great vibe, perfect size, amazing skiing. And there's a lake, too! It's soooo legit for just chilling--winter or summer. The people are friendly. It's unpretentious, laid-back, fun. It's the place to be.
