What about Superbike/MotoGP racing, i like to watch it ocassinally. Valentino Rossi is amazing. Racing in general though is such an eyesore, all the ads. No offense to anyone but after seeing the Cheerios car I knew it was all going down hill. Speaking of down hill whats w/ that idea floating around about putting ads on ski lifts? As long as its not everywhere id be fine.

Schumacher, Senna, & Fangio in that order. The best race car drivers are in Formula 1, so all the drivers that were listed in other competitive classes just wouldn't even cut it in a discussion of the greatest race car driver ever. lol, F1 drivers usually race those lower formulas (DTM, rally, Indy, whatever they want) before they enter F1 and after they retire from F1.

Any kind of racing that involves a circuit sucks balls. Rally is the shit. Conditions, cars, drivers. You gotta have ballssteel to drive like they do. F1 sucks because of the constant grip they have. Try sliding a car at 180kmh on shear Shuee.

Are you on glue? There is nothing competitve about a sport that has 1 top team and then a bunch of nobodys. You must find it exciting watching who comes in 3rd, 4th and 5th but most normal people dont. Or watching the leader of a race slow down so his prom queen teammate can pass him. F1's problem is that the best drivers in the world go more or less unnoticed due to the huge disparity in the cars.

Word to Senna, and Nigel Mansel. And Gilles Villeneuve was a pimp. Jacques however is the Mike Tyson of racing, he wasted his prime driving for BAR now he's trying to make a comeback.

ya i agree f1 is the most competative form of motor racing because thats where the best of the best go. and no open wheel cars or f1 car is stuck on the track like glue. its just if the car has a little oversteer or understeer they loose speed so the driver has to stay as smooth as possible. thye only reason why rally drive power slid is because thier on dirt and when ur on dirt u dont have to be smooth.

 
Its a tough call between who the better drivers are its either rally drivers on the WRC or the F1 drivers. And for all the hicks who were talking bout nascar, that is the most pussy form of racing, ive done 110 mph in my minivan, and ive been ridin shotty with my buddy hittin 120 in his new sports car in traffic, both of these times was on a two line road cuz thats our highway, i think if i can handle that i can handle 200 in a race designed nascar on like a 4 lane same direction track with 45 degree banks that make those coners waaay easier.

211 I agree. I started watching F1 in Villeneuve's (sp?) rookie season, and it was really entertaining then because Williams, Ferrari and Maclaren all had competitive cars. Then Williams went down the pooper, Villeneuve made the biggest mistake of his life (I wouldn't compare him to Mike Tyson though) and Maclaren stepped it up. At that time though, Schumacker was the only driver that could compete with David Coulthard and Mika Hakkinen. I think that shows that he really is a great driver and it's not just the car. Ferrari did step it up though, and it is definitely the fastest car on the track right now, but I think their success is a combination of driver and car. Either way, I've lost complete interest in the sport because you know who's gonna win every race. Props to Ferrari, but they completely ruined the sport.

yea it totally has fucked F1, and there are ALOT of drivers who would rather drive IRL in the states than F1, just because of the competititve disparity..........the IRL is the most competitive racing series out there.

no offence but racing leages like the IRL,Champ car, and F 3000 are for the drivers who didnt or have not yet made the cut for F1.

 
ferrari has been on the upswing in recent years, but i wouldnt say its not competitive...

best season will be when someone upsets ferrari

ok schumacher vs kannan is a no brainer, but dont fucking tell me that Nick Heidfeld or Zsolt Baumgartner could smoke Kannan, wheldon, franchitti, Hornish , castronves,or Schketer (btw wheldon turned down a F1 ride to driver IRL bcause its better racing.)

and champcar and f 3000 drivers couldnt cut it bc they arent even at the pinnacle of motorsport.

Rally requires more skill than F1. They are driving on totally uneven rough loose surfaces around crazy bends and along the edges of huge drops.

Petter Solberg, Colin Mcrae and Richard Burns are the shit. All time would have to be Ayrton Senna, Schumacher obviously and Nicki Lauder.

 
ya atlantaski my favorite series are F1 and the IRL. If u think WRC has the best drivers because they go over jumps and are on dirt then u might as well say thats the guys racing trucks in the extreme dirt series are the best as well lol^.

 
word, its like in F1 there are so many amazing drivers in the upper echelon teams, but it kinda drops off sharply after that, its a shame that F1 teams have to hire drivers over their sponsership money and their rich daddies rather than driving skill.
