Tell us about your greatest memory on skis.

Ill start

So one day, I got to the hill and it was snowing like crazy and it had been snowing the past day too. It sucked at first because it was snowing so hard, but then it cleared up a little later in the day, so there was like 2 feet of fresh, and there was like no one on the hill since it was snowing so hard and no one dared to drive in those conditions, wow, best day of my life. I sure love powder days

Lets here yours!

BTW, I know this has already been a thread but it was back in 2002, so Im making a new one

Skiing last spring with a bunch of my friends and the meatheads at loon for a weekend. One of the funnest weekends i had had in a long time. Conditions were pretty good and everyone was super amped to be there. we lapped the park with almost no breaks on sunday. super fun.

staying at the Alta Lodge and got 7 feet of pow in 7days (woke up with a foot of fresh pow every morning) it was last season and the week before there had been ice and crappy conditions all over the mountain

going to parkcity for spring sking and geting to parkcity late in the day and it being all sluchy ( and being like whatever that what spring sking is like...)that night got 3 feet of snow and it dident stop for a week such an epic week

3 feet of pow on my trip to tellueride (if thats how u spell it) i ski east so i have never touched anything like that before

couple years ago i rolled out to vail and the second i pulled into where I was staying it started snowing and didnt stop for a few days......the locals call it "the storm of the century" anyways, it was spring break and i expected it to be super busy, but they closed the interstate and none of the breakers could get out of denver so it was just me and the locals for a week.

Was at whistler for a week and i got there and it just snowed like fresh powder and then it was sunny all week i was there

back in the day when i used to drink, me and a bunch of friends all got wasted and went old school skiing, we were wearing one pieces, skin tight race pants, bright pink jackets , jeans, rear entry boots, 210cm skis, even some kids that snowboarded and didnt even know how to ski were doing it with us. wow soooo much fun. it was during a lock in too( welch had lock ins where itd be open all night to kids) most fun ive had.

haha thunderbird...i remember being 4 years old and that was like the scariest thing in the world.

skiing 2 feet of fresh for 6000' vert off of the summit on Mt. Hood. (east side) w/ low avalanche danger.

never forget it.

going on a spring break trip to colorado in late april expecting spring conditions, getting dumped on for 48 hours, 6 days of skiing, 1 day at a resort. earning turns damn near the whole time.

1 week in whistler for spring break. We got 2 feet everyday and I demoed a pair of pocketrockets.

MIne was the day I went to the hill and i learned a cork 7 and linkin loop in about half an hour and got respect from the boarders in the process.

It was an early season morning and I woke up pretty hung. When I got to the hill there was this one jump everyone was hiking. NOt a huge table but big enough. After hitting the jump a few times I realised I had to go to work in an hour and I being hung over and a nice ski day really didnt want to go, so I figured why not throw down, the worst that can happen is i get hurt and miss work. So I came at the jump and just busted a linkin outta nowhere, got soo close and on the third time i landed it. This caught all the boarders attention, which was sweet cuz at the time (like 3 years ago) it was just me and 2 other twin tippers on the mountain and the boarders had nooo respect for us. So I told these guys to check this, went into the jump threw my right arm down and to the left, came out on my feet and slammed to my left and hard, got up a little slow and hiked back up. 14 tries later i stuck one. On my way back up the hill, the captain of team forum (they were this group of guys at my mountain that rocked all forum so thats how they got there name and at the time were by far the best guys on the slopes busten everytrick in the book)walked up beside me and jokingly said "dude skis arent ment for rodeos (im aware he said rodes and i was doing corks) hahaha, but those are sick man never seen that shit before" This was wicked cuz this guy was known for totally raggin on skiers and never really liked me or my two friends before this. After that day us and the boarders got along, and i was about an hour late for work but it didnt matter, I just showed them some of my bruises for sympathy and it worked.

when i fell off our lift and snapped my femur and arm in half and spent a week in the hospital and then next 4 months in a wheelchair and now i got a foot long scar on my leg

This day when we got 1m of snow overnight and then the next day it was pure blue bird...it was a pro-d day at school too. Wow, you could see the shine of the snow, and feel it in your face, it was about -10 too so it was the most perfect day I've had.

goin to vail last yr and gettin dumped on, me and my friends made it over to mongolia bowl early, there were 2 other people there. they were standing on about a 10 ft drift where the groomers made a path and then the snow blew up over it to make a good drop. they were about to drop in for first tracks, but they were like 40 and bad skiers ( old bright colored one peices) and i couldnt see the powder wasted like that, so i dropped a 3 off the drift, and snaked that shit. they didnt care, they just clapped and cheered, no hard feelings. it was the most fun i ever had.

I was 3 or 4 years old andI was stealing bamboo sticks from stoneham and I was putting them in my mom's car. Tehn when we would arrive at our home, she would find the bamboo polse and get mad at me. That's have to be my best skiing memory

oh yea and a couple yrs ago me and my best friend went to whiteface at the end of the yr, and they had the under the lift service trail roped off. we ducked the rope, and the snow was so deep we were skiin over trees and droppin off the backs n shit. people were yellin from the lifts, it was like chest deep and we werent even really turning cuz we didnt wanna get caught. there was a patrol at the outrun at the bottom, they pulled our passes, but it was already like 4, so we jsut left, and it was awesome.

Jumping a huge step down, while floating in the air thinking "fuck shit cunt went way to fucking fast over that", then landing it.

I remember the fall I took in the heavy powder. I tore my knee and took me down on a streacher. My mom meet an old friend that day. I was like 9 years old

hafjell, norway, january this year. snowed like 2 feet of fresh during the night, next day it was blue bird. my friends and I were riding in the park all day and we were the only ones there. and one time in oppdal, norway when I was 5, I was skiing with my brother and it was just pounded wtih fresh pow.

last november i was staying in keystone at my uncles house for thanksgiving.... id idnt think the conditions were goin to be all that great(since it was late november) but the first night i was there it snowed like 8inches....that day i went to the basin and the skiing was pretty damn good for november....but it got better,,,,,that night it snowed more, and the next day it was even better...except all the god damn skiers that suck and they take the place over...but still it was a great week at the basin

An avalanche ripped out of polar peak at the resort in fernie while i was on top. Ski patrol came up to help us get down safely, while a crowd gathered out of the potential slide path (patrol was keeping them from continuing down the bowl). When it was my turn to go down, about 15 patrollers were watching and a crowd of about 150 had gathered. I dropped in where the patrol said was safe and started ripping harder then ever for about half the 1000ft peak. The following 250ft was spent tomahawking down the face over 'cheese grater' rocks. When i finally stopped i'd lost everything that wasn't attached with a zipper or a belt and stood up unscathed to a huge cheer!

i was at moonstones park at the begining of the season and there was what i thought was a wee bit of deep fresh ontario pow next to the trees, on the edge of the trail, anyhow after eyeing this on the lift i headed straight for it as fast as my skis could take me. just before the untracked glory i hit a compression and caught some air, but instead of landing softly in light dry goodness my skis stopped as if locked in "cement", i double ejected, pulled an unintentional frontflip and landed flat on my face.

umm maybe when there was about 2 feet dump on keystone and i skied the trees in the outback all day by myself and some old school outkast in my cd player
