yeah dude!! Trey is wicked sick! I saw him in concert last night! Page (keyboardist from Phish) showed up for the encore and Spearhead was a special guest, they covered 'Small Axe' by Bob Marley. By far the best concert I have ever been to, Trey has improved so much since his first tour where I saw him. Anyone who doubts his talents needs to see him live.

buddy guy taught hendrix, but hendrix was sooooo good i think they are tied, clapton, jimmie page, and stevie ray vaughn round out the top 5

'Viva la revolution!'

-Raul Consuelo

yeah. marcd I've been saying that all along. whenever I say hendrix is overrated and probably not the best all time people hate me.

-Mike

'Isn't 14 legal for everyone?' - Dave Pauls

first of all i am very put out by the fact that Kirk Hammett has not showed out on these lists. but my choices for best ever would be, Kirk, Jimmi Hendrix, Randy Rhodes, Jimmi Page, and Eric Clapton.

i like tom delonge on the guitar....

Hey yo, im bringin' it down with the sick boyz crew

Ill urban jibs is what we do

Steve Vai, Angus Young, Slash, Eddie VH, and does anyone know who the guitarist for Dream Theater is, cause he is fucking amazing

'I put toilet paper on the corner of the door and then rubbed my ass on it.' Iannic B. on how he wiped his ass with two broken arms.

Clapton, Hendrix, Trey Anastasio, Jake Lacina, they are the best. Not many people recongnize Trey, but once you see him at a show, you understand.

~Jameson~

Hendrix- was a fricken genious. he is the #1 greatest guitarist of all time.

mountains become a vast play-ground.

1. Alex Lifeson - Rush

2. Jimmy Page - Led Zeppelin

3. Jimmy Hendrix - The Jimmy Hendrix Experience

4. Tom Morello - Rage Against the Machine

5. Eric Clapton - Cream, Derek and the Dominoes

6. Eddie Van Halen - Van Halen

dude rage against the machine's guitarist?!?! what the fuck..he blows,

granted hendix, clapton and santana are good, but one name combines all those styles and takes them to the next level, and those of you who didn't even mention him in your posts must have neither seen nor heard him play...his riffs and picks still echo in my head, whether it be those slow electric twangs to november rain, or his unforgettable solo in sweet child 'o' mine, hell have who ever heard him play the spanish guitar? awesome. he is so versatile and good, no one can top...of course I am talking about SLASH (Saul Hudson)formerly of G'n'R and now Slash's Snakepit my god he definitely tops off this list hands down!

the thing I like about highschool girls, is I keep getting older but they stay the same age!

Actually my name isn't even James!

buck490 knows whats up with trey, go to his show, you will see.

damn slick james, where do you get off bashing other peoples opinions? 'what the fuck, he blows' ??? damn dude, maybe the guy who said that really likes rage.... and maybe he hates guns n roses... just relax, and stop busting on peoples opinions cause there not your own

b

i wasn't busting on anyone's opinions I was simply atating the fact that that guy plays guitar no better than myself...(that's a dis)

i'll still have to say that hendrix is the best followed closely by Page, b.b.king Santana, and Van Halen but steve vai is so smooth i was listening to some of his nice licks and riffs and they kill

Jimmy Page.

But there are lots of fantastic guitar players. I just love Jimmy Page the most. He's my personal number one.

Have you guys ever heard of John Pretucci from Dream Theater? If you want to hear a solo that will make you cream your pants listen to the Glass Prison by them. And their bassist is insane as well as their drummer who uses a 38 piece drum set

this is a guy that works at Disney....lol

Taste Death. Live Life.

Yngie Malmsteen, technically, he is frikin amazing, but his music is not always cool, and some spanish guitar player I heard

i had this discusion in my guitar class the other day and we figured there is no best because what really makes a good guitar player speed? im sure clapton hendrix vaugn patruci satriani vai can all play amazingly fast and they all have diffnernt styles so you can't say that one was more inovative then the other because when one could be paving the way for rock music one could be paving the way for jazz or blues. so no one for say is the greatest guitar player ever but there is just a bunch of amazing players out there.

as bad as you want to do me i want to do your mom

damn it took long enough for the right name to come out good job skiordie it is by far joe satriani, srv is up there too as well as clapton king page and cant forget names like richie sambora(bon jovi) or C.C. deville(poison)

Gotta Love The Midwest

Hendrix is but its close. (dunno all of there names at this time) However he is followed closely by led's guitarist, and the who's guitarist. Off the topic, buddy holly was the best bass player, no1 comes even close.

its not what you ride, its how you ride it...
