Hell yeah I'm going with Danny Carey, he's insane on that set of his, one of the most amazing and creative drummers I've ever heard.

from all of the drummers i've seen, i would have to agree that the Dave Matthews dude is the best one by far.

carter is definitely good, but i think the top would be john bonham and buddy rich

bonham and carter for sure. I used to really like peart, but he looks too pissed off when he plays, ruins the mood of the song.

bonham and keith moon

Some folks look for answers, others look for fights

Some folks up in tree tops, just looking for their kites

Goes to show, you don't ever know

Watch each card you play and play it slow

i love how when you see carter playing a concert...he always has bubble gum in his mouth and when they zoom in on him and hes just rocking out he'll blow a bubble...yeah i still think hes hte best drummer....he really is the heart behind dave matthews

my mom plucks my ball hair at night when im sleeping and glues them to her eyesbrows cuz she had a terrible camping incident when she was younger and her eyebrows never grew back, shes been doing this since i was 13 im gonna have to start chargin that fat bitch for my hair

he's got an intense set for sure. But I find him kind of boring. His dvd put me to sleep and his style is too choppy for me. But shit, he's damn good, just again, he always looks mad while playing.

Fuck them all, Rick Allen from Def Lepp, the man has talent... And one arm...

you guys are silly. have you even heard any jaz? the shit those guys do with a drum kit is completely insaine. other than that, grindcore has to take the cake for the best drummers. i'd have to say that the drummer from Ion Dissonance has to be up there with the best.

josh freese for today. i just listened to a vandals album i had lost for a long time....not the best tech stuff, but it works with the music and is fun to listen to. also, check the fuck out of Dan/jeff from small brown bike

Fuck......I can not even believe I forgot about Billy Martin....he is out of this world. And can't forget about Zach Velmer from Sector 9. He can keep the sickest beats going at breakneck speed forever.

I don't know karate, but I know Ka-razy

i think from current day drummers Travis Barker is on top..before you anyone says 'fuck blink', 'those guys are pussies' or anything else half retarded, listen to the shit he's done with the transplants, black eyed peas, boxcar racer, blink, the list goes on..

Travis Barker or what ever his name is sucks ass. i don't think any of you have actually heard good drumming. there are no phenominal drummers in punk. The genre just isn't chalanging. sure they are fast... but they don't have to be good to be fast. I had this explained to me one like this... drumming punk is like hucking an upright penciled out 1080. it is hard to do, and it is fast, but it will never be as good as a super smooth corked 540. drumming is more about style and getting the time chainges and switching up the beat and shit. its a lot more technical than just taking the simple beats and making them faster. jaz is the king of that shit... just tossing in weird assed shit that you are like 'what the fuck are they doing?' then you get hardcore or grind music where you get a lot of jaz drummers that are bored with jaz playing rediculously technical music REALLY fast. they are like tossing a switch corked 1080 with an inside out grab from the second you leave the jump to the time your skis touch the ground. tough to do, fast, but still looks real good. that is why i think that grind bands have the best drummers.... oh and they do it completely for the love of the music.... cuz really good drumming is hard to listen to. its not some crazy sellout shit. oh yea and just because you have a lot of drums doesn't mean you are good. and thats my rant.

haha dude obviously you're basing your judgement solely on a couple blink-182 songs and not much else...i've played drums/percussion for the past 13 years, so i think i have a little more knowledge about this subject than alot of people who're just basing their opinions sheerly on what they hear rather than what they know...travis' playing with blink-182 is only about 1/10th of what he can do...i know this through seeing him play with multiple other groups, artists, and students...i have also spoken to some of his students, one of them being 16-17 yr. old phenom by the name of Ilan Rubin, drummer for F.O.N. and Denver Harbor, who has even told me what people see him do with blink is only a small small piece of what he can actually do...and the 'crazy random stuff' you talk about in his playing with blink-182 is actually called latin drumming...just because it doesn't have a 2 and 4 feel to it doesn't mean its 'crazy random stuff', its probably the hardest style to play along with jazz ecspecially while trying to put it into a punk song...slayer asked travis to drum for them but he turned them down...that's probably not the sign of a shitty drummer, if you've ever heard slayer's drumming before...also, he plays with countless other artists such as Tim Armstrong from Rancid, and the Transplants, as well as Black Eyed Peas and his solo stuff with Will.I.Am, he's played with Pink (shes lame but its still credible), as well as others...i agree alot of punk drumming is redundant fast 2 and 4 and not much more, however Travis Barker has set himself apart from that...being voted best drummer of the year 2 years in a row has to have some kind of credibility to it dont you think?

i hate drummers with a lot of drums. THE ILLEST CATS OUT THERE PLAY JAZZ. i don't care if you disagree. jazz players can hold it down on simple sets. it's not what you play, it's how you play it. please for the love of god someone download live MEDESKI MARTIN AND WOOD.

SIDIKKI SIOUZ! none of you know him. well maybe like 1 or 2 people on this site do. he teaches doundon and djembe classes in vermont, he is fucking INSANE. on the djembe that is.

DANNY CARREY (from tool) holy crap he has a freakin 25 piece set, and has the fastest hands ever. plus in every song he has the most creative/ crazy solos. just download jerk off, or pushit and you will soon bow down to his highness.

A witch like we had thought'

Jonathon Mover, Virgil Donati, although he's not the best by far I love Chad Sexton from 311, and even Travis Barker's work with the aquabats should be at least a slight reminder that he can playing stuff besides fast punk. I remember when I was little I used to think the guy from Sum 41 was an awesome drummer...my how things have changed. What's who the German dude with that extreme interdependance book? My drum teacher was explaining some of the stuff he did on one of his videos or something, and I could barely keep my mouth closed...
