this is a hard question, but anyone know any great songs mainly on piano not like an intro then a rock song comes on. but a great piano either rock or jazzy with a great voice or none at all.. thanks
 
brad mehldau is pretty much the fuckin man. and christopher o'riley who plays nothing but radiohead covers. then philip glass who is a composer, check out his solo piano work.

Good piano songs? You're gonna have to be more specific. Otherwise you'll get these ben folds and matchbox 20 responses. Classical piano? Jazz, funk, blues, rock, etc.

Just piano? Well the interlude from South Side of the Sky by Yes is a pretty crazy piano song. If you also included keyboards, any prog song basically...

If you're going for mellower, there are tons of music books with Beatles song adapted completely on piano that are like 15$ at music shops, and you can't go wrong with the Beatles.
 
more upbeat funky interesting. if you've heard the intro to "roses" by outkast its in piano. that has a nice vibe. that kinda feel. but the christopher oriley stuff is awesome thanks guys.

And of course, just about anything by Elton John has good piano in it.
 
oh yeah fuckin thelonious monk, i forgot to mention him but others didn't. he's a the man, so ahead of his time. sooo ahead. for more jazz look into dave brubeck, bud powell, and chick corea as mentioned. also oscar peterson.
 
if you have ever heard of Chicago, the band not the movie. They have some pretty good songs, i know most of them on piano...Saturday In The Park is really good, the name sounds kinda cheesy but it has a cool opening.
 
im guessing this wasnt araound when the thread was created, but the piano song on the Idea sound track i think its track 10, best 'piano song' ever!! personally i think it is the definition of perfection haha anyone agree??
