anyone here surf the great lakes, im about to get into it, gonna start building my first board on friday. ive surfed in B.C and Australia previously.

I live just over an hour away from Lake Michigan, but I don't the waves are big enough there. I've always wanted to try though...

i surf quite a bit in Tofino on vancouver island, its pretty much the best place for surfing in Canada. i had no idea you could surf on the great lakes, thats sick

superior probably has the best surf but its the coldest. michigan might have some availible. but seriously just go wakesurfing if you want to go that bad

you get big waves on windy day in Lake Michigan west cost. But other wise the water is flat flat flat.

If you have a wetsuit you can do it in fall. Big waves and wind then!

ive been thinking about doing it on ontario but i dont have a board. When the wind is coming from teh NW theres some 3-5 foot waves. They are more random than ocean waves tho, like choppy and weird breaking points

There's some guys from here in Buffalo that rip Lake Erie. Mainly in the late fall with a wetsuit.

I'll see if I can dig up any info for ya.

i live 2 miles from lake superior. yes it is freezing all year, but i see a lot of gigantic waves.
