List could go one, but all of these albums are consistently good all the way through.
my friend always uses greatest hits for a bands best album, its fucking dumb a compliation is not the same as an album. a good album is one that flows the way through from song to song, a greatest hit is just a jumble of good songs, not comparable at all in my opinion.
I really love hearing certain people say that they enjoy Congratulations. MGMT's first album was garbage and all of the mainstream music fans that liked their first album hated Congratulations. Its like how Kurt Cobain was trying to weed out the parts of his fan base that he didn't like with 'In Utero' but for MGMT it actually worked.
In terms of the actual thread, I'd have to say I agree with the people who said Neutral Milk Hotel and Arcade Fire's 'Funeral'. Also,
'Is This It?' by the Strokes'Boys and Girls in America' by the Hold Steady'Yankee Hotel Foxtrot' by Wilco'Turn on the Bright Lights' by Interpol - creatively geeked and ran out of ideas for the albums that came after
