I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card to use my computer for editing because the card I have now is shit. I have an AGP slot open and I want dual head out with s-video. I have a 1.8ghz amd athlon xp processor so my question is what card to get? It would be strictly for editing, no games.

www.BFGtech.com they make really good cards. try for atleast a 256mb with GDDR3 ram and the GT OC cards they have will boost your computers speed cause the GPU on the video card will do all the video processing.

Hey thanks for telling me something I could have asked my 9 year old cousin. I was looking for specifics.

you dont need fuckin specifics when youre looking for a graphics card for editing and not for games...wow you want one with two outs and s video, thats about every vid card made over $100...pretty specific

video editing depending on your computers specs can slow your computer down alot. so a decent video card can boost speed. some times if your computer is to slow the video card will bottel neck and slow every thing down. so you might want to consider upgradeing your CPU aswell. And do you know if your mother board can support AGP x2,x4,x8 x8 is the highest agp will go so you should check that out befor buying one a new video card.

On the package it says 4x/8x

and I beleive I read somewhere that a higher one will work with a lower but not a lower with a higher and I just cracked my neck the wrong way so i need to go lay down. Ouch this fuckin hurts.

I agree with upgrading the CPU, and how much RAM do you have? bc no matter how the vid card is, things are going to bottleneck somewhere without a decent system to support it

That picture didn't come out very well. I have 712mb of ram. I'm sure the 6600 would work for my needs but how much different will the two cards be performance wise?

both cards the 6600 gt oc and the 6800 gt oc are good cards its all what you want to spend now cause they both support x4. you have desent amount of Ram 712 your next upgrade would have to be a new mother board and CPU then you will have a good computer for w/e

So far this is the only thing holding me back. I can upgrade my processor to an amd athlon xp 3200 but I don't need that much. As for ram I can have 3gb's total but I can't imagine I would ever need that much.

PCI-E can have to video card runing as once for double the power if you need that. and the socket speed it doumb that of AGP AGP = X8 PCI-e = x16

I've been searcing for hours and I can't find out if its possible to upgrade the graphics card on my laptop. I know its built in to the motherboard. It is an HP Pavilion 4560us. I'm gonna guess its not possible but if anyone knows anything about it let me know.
