Yeah all the mid range cards are super inflated at this point. The gtx 1080 and up are the only ones that didn't inflate so might aswell get something good for my 4k monitor
 
what is your current card, or how urgent is your need? I'm pretty sure all card prices are inflated at the moment. I'm very grateful that I snagged a 970 before all this crypto mining madness started.

My current card is the amazing intel integrated graphics in the 7700k, my PC got so much potential but no graphics card to live up to it :(

You gotta go full titty with the 1080, no compromises
 
Just get a 1060, there is a reason the 1080s are $550, power = price and you don't need that much power, i promise you.

The 4k performance on the 1060 isn't the greatest though, since I have a new 4k monitor I want to use its full potential.

Sounds like you can afford it, so get the 1080
