Soooo who are we going to be seeing here? A good friend of mine is putting this event on and making sure its going to be the dope shit. I hope we see a solid NS representation here or I'd be dissapointed. The set up is going to be absolutely rediculous. Having the drop in coming down out of this gigantic grandstand (a.k.a. the best possible drop in for a rail jam ever). Apparently they've been piling up snow here for the last week and so the recent crappy weather won't hurt things in the least. This is going down at the Manchester Rec Park in Manchester, VT. Manchester is about 15 minutes from stratton and probably about 40 from Mt Snow, I know theres a ton of you bastards that live in this area and ride these mountains so come win some dope prizes. Apparently the set up isn't set in stone or anything but this is what clune had to say "we've narrowed it to either a 45ft battleship or a 35ft A Frame... and a 25ft Flat (going up) and a C Box".

"Manchester Ctr., VT — Vew-Do Balance Boards and the Manchester Parks Recreation Committee will present a one-of-a-kind event, The 2006 Grandstand Railjam!! Under the lights at the Manchester Rec. Center on Saturday, December 30th. All proceeds will be going to benefit the Manchester Skate Park. The Pro/Am event is open to all ages, snowboarders, skiers, snowskaters and spectators alike. There will be a $ 20 registation fee on the day of the event.

The GrandStand seats at the Manchester Rec. Center, will serve as the run-in and the rail set-up will be out in the field. Here’s your only chance to jam under the lights, on at least 2 different jibs donated by StraightLine Rails!! A premier manufacturer of ski/snowboard rails. They've even lined up snowguns to use to make everything!!

Porno Tongue!! VT's finest punk jam band, will be playing the after party at the Perfect Wife Tavern!! So come watch, support the athletes and help us to keep maintaining our Manchester Skate Park!!

Bumpity bump, so it looks like the set up is a 15 ft C box into a flat box (didnt give exact dimensions but id guess atleast 25 feet). Just dropped by today and there is already a ton of snow set up. The drop in is soo dope, right out of the grandstand. They are setting up the snow guns tonight. Dope hand blown glass trophies. Come on peoples.
 
Ill be there filming, by request, so we should have some coverage up on NS as well. Possibly some stills as well.
 
just for the record helmets are required.

Here are some pics from today. Still being set up and tested as we speak. They will be blowing more snow tonight and also bringing in 5 more dump truck loads of rink snow.

Small boxes for a rail jam, i doubt your gunna need that much speed for that,i think ive hit basically the same c box (same company and dimensions) and its really trickable so there could be some sick stuff thrown. props for setting something like that up
 
This event is gunna be rad!! and it's a benefit.. so we did all this work.. for free! many hours! starting with nothing, just an idea..

Everything we have is donated.. so we had no choice in boxxes or rails..

...so you all who think this is lame...

Let's see you put together a better event..

Thats dope, alot of work to set all that up. Fuck the haters, lets see them 270 on to nosepress on a box if they think they are so badass....
 
The poster says 4. But it could be 4:30. I have no idea hopefully Clune will hop in here by tomorrow and say whats up. So Id say get there at 4 to be safe.

judging was messed, kids who shoudl ahve didnt make it to finals and stuff, but it was a fun comp and a fun setup
 
Agreed. Pretty sure it was only boarders judging. Also, I was watching kids stomping fucking DOPE shit, just as they were going, I saw all the judges either looking down, talking to people or in general, just not paying attention. Shot a bit of footy that I'll put up at some point in the near future. Marc you killed it from what I saw, word.
 
that was the wrd jam i have ever seen, the setup was the worst setup in existance, the flat box was about 6 inches off the ground. however props getting the prizes together, and on the other hand no props for creating a 4 hour rail jam. Like skodeo said a bunch of kids who should have been in finals didnt get in, witch is bullshit. even if the boxes were donating i wish people would understand that boxes shouldn't be in jams, the same tricks are just done repedatively, its not that hard to do tricks on a box.
 
the judging was sooooo wack... kids who fucking KILLED it didnt make it into finals. setup was fun for awhile but anybody can throw down tricks on a box. overall it was fun considering it was all donated for the skatepark and a good cause.

props to the people who put in all the effort in putting this jam together.

but seriously.... DONT HAVE 50 YEAR OLD DADS JUDGING A RAIL JAM! THEY DONT KNOW SHIT!

the judges said they wanted to see style, everyone there could spin on to a box. a wound up 450 on to disco spin isnt hard, and it looks terrible...marc on the other hand did a 270 on 360 switch up that was clean. style is this years trend.
 
they should have put up a rail, more than 6 iches fro mthe ground, at least something i could nut on
 
just got back to boston 2 days ago. so yes. But, I left my charger at home (fuck)..Its in the mail right now so I should have it in 1-2 days. I will have something up within the weak.
