Graffiti Artists

well i used to be SKEPTIC until i found out some artist downtown has already been using that name for years.. so i tried to think of a more important name. I got the idea when i was in class learning about the universe, the point of our lesson was that the world is just a tiny little dot, and i thought "well if our planet is a dot then im just one little speck" . when i got home my German grandma was there and i told her about it, she told me that SPECK means Bacon in German and BAM. there is it.

soon im gunna have to figure out some sort of way to incorperate bacon in my tags/pieces

They usually make some sort of portfolio and apply for a job with a graf company - the type of companies that do murals for businesses and stuff like that, and selling their artwork (canvas and other objects). Usually when they do legal stuff they change their name so they don't get in trouble.

Product design, advertising, selling pieces, etc. And thats awesome how you picked your name through bacon. Hahaha.

Welp. I've got a little problem. Turns out a guy is already got the name Acek with a few throwies on the internet. Do I stick with Ace-K or try again?

i'm fucked. my friend got caught with EVERYTHING and if he gets caught again he's off too boarding school. he turns 18 in 10 months though and he said hevwill write again then, but this whole year im alone. back too reppin O.M.A. (one man army). also probably means a lot more stencils and shit as opposed too bombing

I'd stick to Rage. Do Rage1 or RageOne or something. And rep the fuck out of your buddy. What was his graf name?

noooo i still right RAGE, but instead of reppin a crew i rep OMA. and yeah imma do hella shouts too my friend, SEEK.

Oh! The one you posted before! Bummer. At least you had another writer with you. I just got a couple buddies who might spot for me. Which is why I was considering going with AceOne.

you can do aceone with acek, it doesnt matter. i write RAGE, Mr Rager, Rager, Ragism, whatever

Not a big fan of halos, just not my thing. I see it too much thats all. Even though I am mostly into stencils so I don't really have that much of a tag myself.

not a whole lot since I am cheap and only print on regular paper (one time use) I have done batman, one of my friends wearing 3 sets of headphones (yeah that one sucked for trying to bridge stuff) and the generic hot girl type of stencil. Right now I am working on a multi-layer one called the power of love, I know sounds lame but it's going to be awesome. I imagine I will end up just playing off that concept when I finish this one and do some more.

upload the finished/sprayed power of love when youre done with it, id love to see some original stencils! or just upload the layered image itself, good for advice n shit, how many layers?

only 3, and it might take a while to finish since no where close to here sells good paint, so I am going to have to do some traveling eventually.

a friend of me drew this, i like it and he's gonna do something similar but with mountains on my helmet now :)

Check out this video... another french writer named Revert. Kills it on some now-you-see me shit. The song is sick too... it's from a dilla/beach boys mixtape, and i'm not usually into mashups at all but this one is pretty well executed. peep it

Whats weird is that although i do a lot of stencils and shit, my main goal in graffiti is really a negative one. for me, doing graff is a way for me too say FUCK EVERYTHING, because i spend the rest of my life trying too be perfect. I am so ignorant when i go out bombing; I will do a throwie directly infront of the people at a bus stop, or do a wall under a road that a cop is parked on (true story). during prom we just went around downtown and would like do tags where they were standing and just do little notions underneath that said "PROM SWAG!".

^if i do get caught, im not gonna be one of those people who are like "i didnt do nothing!" or "this is bullshit". i understand exactly why im in trouble and would comply with them

Hahahaha i could deffinitly relate to you, When i use to bomb it was to say fuck everything! I try so hard to do shit rite that paint time is fuck it time where i relax vent and finally not have to give a fuck so much. I have been caught once and i didnt care i knew what i did and i took what i got. Buuut lately ive started caring about painting like i do everything else because when i got caught and couldnt paint for so long i relized how much it ment to me. Im preparing to bomb again some day but im gonna bomb in a completely different way. Rite now i have a free wall i can paint anytime so im going to stick to that until i feel other people can appreciate what i do, and when i start bombing im not just going to bomb a name. I wana bomb quotes and sayings to make people think and not be able to forget my bomb once they have seen it. I might put my tag up beside them and still hit the occasional bombing nights to rep myself but i want people to enjoy what i do. like if i tag someones building ill bomb there bussiness's name with characters and shit make it my own style but respect the persons wall and hopefully theyll like it and not buff it. Ya it might sound different and people will hate on me but i dont give a fuck i paint for myself and nobody else, i might have more respect for the peoples property im bombing but my plan is to make my work last as long as possible

Just racked a new blackbook and some paint Sharpies.

I'd like to look at graffiti as my escape from being known for your average middle class white kid from the burbs. I have a story to tell and feel as though this is a way to show it. It takes skill and the sense of not giving a fuck, which is me. Year after year I get the speech of you are so talented but don't apply yourself. This is applying myself. Plus its fucking awesome to top it.

The shitty thing for some people is that they will have to accept that graffiti will ALWAYS be vandalism. No matter how good you get at murals or crazy intricate portrait shit ect, you are writing on someones wall and there will always be someone who isn't ok with it. Also bombing is the best feeling EVER, you cant replicate the feeling. Its satisfaction in the purest form.

In my case, yeah. But you gotta start somewhere. I've been constantly writing, working on my handstyle, thinking of new throwies, whatever. I'm not just doing this for the fuck of it. I'm doing this for me. Why does the fact that I'm white and from the burbs make me boring and cheesy?

k if this is really your passion then first

learn to tag the whole alphabet in 3 different styles

find a comfortable way to draw up any letter

never do the same piece/colors twice (always try something new because thats how u learn what looks good)

master your throwies and be able to do them in less than 2 minutes

BOOM on the road to success

I've been writing the alphabet constantly and I tend to just twist off a general idea everytime I write it. I'm now finding a way to each letter thats comfortable but still need some work on others.

I have two throwie ideas so far that could be done fairly quickly in my mind. Still working on some.

Does letter size matter on tags or does that just apply to throwies. I think having different size letters would look sick.

All the letters in your tag dont have to be the same size, just dont go around hitting humungous tags everywhere unless your really good with the philly hand style. It always frustrates me to see big ass tags that dont even look good. I have 5 letters in my tag and i like the 1st letter smaller then the 2nd and the 2nd smaller then the 3rd, having the 3rd the biggest one with the 4th the same size as the 2nd and the 5th the same size as the 1st if that helps at all

homax_nozzle_01.jpg

pick one of these fuckers up at walmart if you want to go floor-ceiling with your tags, throw, whatever. they are the sickest things ever

Fuck yeah! that cap is sooo nuts I got one! Wastes so much paint though, It's the equvelent of a extenguiser in cap form (not really)

floor to ceiling is like 8-9 feet which I can do with a normal cap. It's not hard to stand on your toes.

dont put alot of thoght into it. just write it.

and notice how crappy the bottom and middle right one are, cause i tried to put style in each letter. only put style in one letter either at the beg, or end.

and my throwie. messed up p
