im doing a debate thing for my school on this topic. theres alot of good stuff about graduated licenses thats out there but no info about what sucks about them other than the obvious. anyone have some reasons why the suck , or some examples of their shittiness in action? i kinda gotta get this done quick so help please.

i don't see anything wrong with them..and when you get the new liscence you can change the birthdate on the old one

in some places with the graduated license system kids with a certain license are only allowed to drive with family in their car but they can drive alone. This sucks because it prevents kids from carpooling to school or double dating or any stuff kids do to save gas.

yea that is a gay ass rule. we have it in here in washington. by any chance is there that rule in california?? i hope not because im making a trip down there this summer and i will only have my intermediate license with that gay rule.

i was thinking my debate could go somthing like this: little billy had to get picked up from school, by his brother w/ the graduated license. his brother couldnt pick him up because he had his permit, but the parental sdidnt know that. little billy waited and waited. my the time little billy's parents figured it out, the hyenas had gotten to little billy

thanks to you kiwi's, we got the graduated licensing system applied here in ontario...apparently it worked really well in NZ so we adapted it over here. damn kiwi's.

we have it in wisconsin... this is what it says on the back of my license:

Class D - non-commercial vehicles.

RESTRICTIONS: The following restrictions apply on Class D until (date which is 9 months after getting license) or longer if extended: No passengers except immediate family, driving instructor, one other person. In addition, from midnight to 5 am a parent, guardian, driving instructor or one other licensed person age 21 or older must be seated beside licensee, unless licensee is driving between his or her home, school or work.

BUT, no one gives a shit around here about it. i got pulled over with 3 other friends in the car at 1 in the morning and the cop didn't give a shit, he just gave me a written warning for speeding...

Ontario's was great. G2 licence=just a few less demerit points and a blood alcohol level of ZERO, which is how it should be anyways. Too bad the the G test has NOTHING to do with real life driving. On the positive side of things, I get my full BC licence by showing them my G2 and a birth certificate, so that's cool

I have a major beef with Ontario and they're assed-up rules. I'm 25 now, but when I was 17, I lived in Halifax. I had my FULL license. I moved to Ottawa with my parents and got demoted to a graduated license. I had to wait for a couple years, then take another road test and pay another shitload of coin to get my full Ontario license. It's retarded because I held the exact same license as my parents and was never under a graduated system in Nova Scotia. Un-fucking-believable. I hate Ontario and it's government.
