What do u think?

I would like to get into a college like UofU or somethin close to skiing. I know im goin to a community college for a year or two becuase I get to go there free. Im a sophmore

by the way. I used to have a B in Chem but my teacher had a baby and we got a sub that sucks and cannot keep the class under control, seriously a student could teach us better.

Pretty much everyone dropped down a grade in chem. What do colleges really look for? Some people say u can get a 2.0 comin out of High School, go to a community college and average a 3.0 or higher then transfer to a state school. Whats your take on this?

Get your grades up. I wish i kept my grades up during sophomore and freshman year, because its harder to keep them up now and every year counts.
Dont try to skim by or take short cuts.

haha better than me when I was a freshman. I was straight cs and an f.

Now I am trying to get into college and not WCU or the community college so I have

A+quality point-US history

B+-quality point-English 3

B-spanish

B-Mat

all my bs are on the upswing too so hopefully I can finish this semester with all as.

i had pretty much the same grades in hs. i went to county college and planed on going to a state school after 2 years. county sucks and is no fun at all. not only does it suck but i also work full time and it is actually going to take 4 years to finish county. this actually happens more then you would think. i am finally going away to a good school next semester it just took me some extra time.
my advice is to do better in hs and just go away to school to a state school or any school. its just better.

i think they are honors classes^

I have six hours of school

do some people have less? Because in other threads people only post like 5 grades

It makes the grade count more towards your gpa. If you take honors or ap at my school you get quality points.

Think of

D-1.000

C-2.000

B-3.000

A-4.000

and then for a quality point add 1 to that number. What sucks is my school has IB so they get 2 quality points for everything from 9-12 but if you just take honors you can't get 2 quality points until 11th grade and then you end up with a lower class rank when applying to schools while at a school without IB you would have a much higher rank.

fuck school!
doin my victory lap gave it my all but i still got a 60 in history hopefully my other 2 will be better i find out on tues if not i give up ski bumlife here i come

Im kinda of thinkin about doin the ski bum life right after highschool for a season then either goin to community college or regular college,im not sure

That is around a 2.8 or something. Step some of those grades up, espcially for your junior year since that is the most important.

With some work I'm sure those Cs can turn into Bs.

EN401 - 5, English 4 (CP1) 66

MA431 - 2, Pre-Calculus (CP1) 93

RE401 - 2, Religion 4 (CP1)

SC311 - 3, Physics (CP1) 82

MU351 - 1, Guitar Lab 1 (CP1) 57

4th quarter senior year..I only need to pass Religion and English.

I can haz a Question?

so i happen to have slipped up in AP Calc and got a D this quarter. my GPA is still 3.89 and i think i can get the Calc grade back to a C. how heavily do colleges look at individual grades, or is it just SAT ACT and GPA all the way. and am i ok with the 3.89 to get into some decent colleges?

well you got a d which sticks out more than a c+your gpa is great! good enough to get into some good schools just work on bumping that d up and you'll be in a great position to have a lot of choice for college

i had to drop ap calc cuz i was failing but owned it in college somehow. guess its easier the second time around. but i wouldnt worry about a c in that class. college will look at that you took it passed it and that ur overall gpa is still high. so no worries brotha

there's no set equation to getting into a college. and none of us are on the admissions committee so my advice would be to do as well as you can and hope that's good enough for wherever you want to go.

high school is pretty easy, probably one of the easiest things you'll ever experience in your life...... and i think most colleges would be okay with As and Bs. You'd be surprised at how hard its becoming to get in to some schools.. So i would just suggest to put forth the slightest effort and bring up those grades. High school is bullshit, but it is somewhat important!
