Grab's with spins

Hey

I've sking more than ever this year and I finally broke through the mental block of spinning past 3 and learned 5's 7's and almost 9's. Now that I have them down I wanna start grabbing and corking. I read a lot about cork 5's pop carve looker under arm/at your heel and spot the landing. I'll test that out this weekend.

I just need help with grabs on my spins. I tried a saftey 5 last weekend and stop at 180 for some reason, then hucked a big spin, did the sfatey grab and made it 270 and landed on my side. I guess my spins aren't good enough to try these yet so is there a way to progress into a grab? I'm not sure if there is because really if you hit something there's either straight air or grabs, no real inbetween. Any tips on this shitty problem?

Cheers

you gotta continue looking over you're shoulder, and if you're learning it helps to grab anywhere behind you're binding because it forces you to continue looking over you're shoulder.

Dont focus on doing the grab so much. Just keep doing your spins over and over until you just feel that you can easily bring your skis up near your hand and then grab it and stomp it. Find whatever grab just comes naturally for you, for me, its pretty much a safety grab. You just got to keep doing your spins until you get very comfortable

i cant really describe it cuz I suck at jumps but grabs have just started to click for me I still find it hard to spin fast with grabs though, grabs where you turn your shoulders in the direction you spin will actually make you spin faster though. so try a leading tail grab or somethin like that cuz when you turn your upper body to grab the ski it will make you spin even faster. so like if you spin left grab your left tail with your left hand. should work out.

First do a safety - I do mine with my inside hand because I just have to reach down, not throw and then grab.

yes if you spin left its very easy to just reach down with ur left hand. It doesent really effect the spin.

I find it hard to do toxics and any greb with a cross. Its just to much stuff to focus on. I tend to do fafety grabs a lot but I need to expand my grabs. Ive been working on spinning with truck drivers, but they are pretty difficult.

i think the key really is to just keep doing 3's until you are really really comfy. learn to carve out 3s and dont throw your arms at all to set the rotation, that way your hands are already in the right place. oh, and keep your knees bent and up towards your chest the whole time, that way you dont need to reach as far

on a 360 I usually dont have my grab locked in and tweaked till the earliest 180. 540s 720 etc I get the grab in at like 270. Set your spin first then once you are set in the spin then grab

dont try to grab too early first do a 180 or sumthin than try to grab. If you rush it, it wont work
