GPS Jibbing on the east coast - Cult

So you have some down time on your ski vacation and you decide to go out for some urban jibbing.

Unfortunately you dont know the area, and have no Idea where to set up shop.

Instead of driving around and looking for your perfect set up, just log

on to NS and grab some GPS coordinates for your nearest skiiable rail,

bomb drop and/or wall ride, plug them in to your hand held, portable

Global Positioning System and rip it up.

I think It's a pretty good Idea

Thoughts, Opionions?

I don't really know man, I cant decide im inbetween thinking thats a kickass sick idea and thinking its not. I agree it would be so much easier and fun just to plug it in and hit some sick shots, but i think alot of good urban spots would get blown up, which isn't always a bad thing just have the thing about urban is finding it and being stoke on your sick spot. so im not to sure

i agree. it would end up like skate videos did, everyone hittin the same spots in every video and the spot just got lame. half the fun of hitting urban is going out and making something out of nothing.

all true

but not too many more people would hit urban just because they knew some sick spots, It's still alot of work to set up the In run and jump and that alone would put people off

also there are an absoulte shitload of epic spots within 50 miles of my house and those are only the ones you can see from the road, so there are probably enough that it wouldn't get too stale. Plus there are always new interpretations of each spot.

Also no one is joining my cult

This is pure genius. Ever regionals section needs to have one of these, and have it stickied. It would make urban so much more productive and help everyone out. Plus, you wouldn't have to always search for really cool setups that you normally wouldn't be able to find, they would be right there available to you in the form of GPS co-ordinates.

how about you find your own jibs so that nobody else finds it and the cops wont find out about it. simple shit.

Yeah, I kinda agree...my favorite part of jibbing is finding it...I like your thought (to thread creator) but the problem is that everyone has their own little "sweet spots" and I don't want someone giving that away...like I was originally thinking it'd work great for "community spots" but I know that some little 13 year old is gonna go, "Well I saw some guys hitting this sweet spot here.." Then I'll show up and be like "What the Fuck?" but on the otherside of that point i'd be like, "How'd you guys find this place?" and they'd be like "NS." and I'd then be like, "Sweet! Jib sesh..." still not sure how I feel about this one...

look, what this plan needs is a counter system, to keep gapers away and keep spots from getting blown up. What I propose is the following:

paintball-turret.jpg

I call it the "Cap-A-Gaper 3000"

An automatic paintball gun equipped with a state-of-the-art gaper identifying laser scanner. It remotely measures the length of one's tall tee, the size of one's goggle gap, and monitors how the skier walks, talks, and acts. If the skier is determined to be a gaper, the system targets the head and open fires. Also, if a spot seems too overpopulated, it calls in an airstrike.

It's foolproof!

IMO, the more spots are known, the less likely it is that any one spot will get over used. You will end up spreading things out more. It's a good idea.

only problem is you'd need to have a LOT of people working on this to put together any sort of decent list, otherwise it's going to take YEARS to compile a legit number of spots...
