Governor vs Bibby vs Billygoat

So I've got 184 Bibbys which I love but I'm thinking about switching up to something more directional as I don't really chuck a ton of tricks on pow days, just grabs and cliffs. I'll be skiing a lot at winter park next season so a pretty good amount of trees and bumps but I still want something burly that I can open up and charge on. I'm 5'9" 185lbs. So I'm thinking about the 186 Gov or 184 BG or should I just stick with my Bibbys? I've heard great things about both the BG and Gov but I'm a little worried about how they'll do in bumps.

I'd take the Billy Goats out of the equation. They are more directional than the Bibby's but the differences when riding them are so minute that it's not worth getting the other if you already have one. I have both the bibby and the goats and personally I prefer the goats because they are more directional but riding them is so similar its crazy. The bibbys are a little looser in the tails and the billy goats have just a tad more tip splay. In the powder, you can feel the difference where the bibbys like to surf a bit more and the billy goats charge a bit harder because of their lack of tail rocker. But on hard pack, bumps, etc. they ride pretty much the same. You may have a bit of an easier time with the goats in the bumps because of their camber rebound from lack of tail rocker.

Im interested about the governors though. Never rode them but always liked the idea of the ski

Top sheets on the governors are soooo sick. The reason I'm thinking about the goats is the mount point is further back leading me to believe they would respond better to a more forward driving stance in powder. On the Bibbys I find I have to stay more neutral when theres heavier snow.

I'll likely get the Commander 108 to go with my 184 Bibby so I can have something directional in my quiver. If it was me, I'd much rather buy a ski that's going to complement a ski that I love rather than replace it.

BG absolutely murders crud. RES makes them nice and pivoty for day after bumps as well. Used mine as a DD for almost two seasons.

Governor = directional Bibby.

108 Commander = skinny, chargy Governor.

Was trying to decide between the Bibby or Commander as my next DD for charging as they both have aspects I like.

Throwing all kinds of wrenches into my decision making with the governor

Bibby slays in pow and soft snow and is alright on hardpack. Commander slays in hardpack/everyday and is ok in pow.

That's what I was figuring. Just gotta decide what to prioritize. Would the governor be a mix of the two? or the about same as a bibby just with no tail rocker?

Ive only been on the 196 govs, but even at that length they were pretty fucking nimble. Killer crud buster ski if you like to rip at mach loney!

I ordered some 186s pretty stoked. Only thing that sucks is I'm gonna be staring at them till next season

Exactly, gov isn't as stiff as commander but was created as a more directional Bibby with a flat tail. I used to have them as my everyday ski, but the width is a lot to throw around if it isn't a pow day.
