Gotama Sizing

Alright so I am thinking about picking up some gotamas and am trying to decide between the 183's and the 190's.  I am 6'3" 170ish + or minus 5 pounds.  I live out west. I want to hear from people who are of my relative size about which sizes they have. Thanks.

little more info: i have 185 karmas and 182 addicts. im just worried that the 183's might feel kinda short and that the 190's might feel huge. i know in reality there isnt that much different. but i guess 7 cms is a lot.

Where are you planning on mounting the skis? That would play a big role in what size is more appropriate for how you intend to use them.

That is a very good question that I hadn't even thought about yet. I feel like an idiot now. Probably very close to recommended, maybe a little behind.

If you plan to not use them in a park ever, Go 190. You're pretty big, mount them a few cms forward of recommended and you'll charge in those skis.

that is actually what I am thinking since I will not be using them in the park. So tempting. others feel free to weigh in.

I am just about your exact size, just one inch shorter, same weight. If I had the cash to spend on an all mountain slayer, the 190 is definitely the way to go.

for a number of reasons you should def get 190s.

1) Gotamas ski much sorter than they measure

2) It sounds like you have the park and all mtn bases covered with addicts and karmas

3) Big skis = big penis. Thats what chicks think anyway, true story.

4) man up.

Volkls measure out a little short and the Gotamas have a massive twin, so the 190's aren't a big ski at all. One of my friends who's probably 150lbs has the 183's and wishes he'd gone bigger. They're not hard to ski at 190 at all, so definitely go big.

I'm in a similar situation. I'm deciding between the 183 and 190s, but I'm 6' and 210. I ski 90% e coast, primarily trees and w/e bc i can find. Opinions?

I am 175lbs and 5'10 and I loved the 183's. I prefer a more playful ski and actually am riding the 176 now. I have friend closer to your size but heavier and they ride the 190's.
The 183 is enough ski mounted in the traditional spot. If I were you I'd get the 190 and mount it on the 'true center' line, even though that isn't actually true center.

you are about my weight.

Gots ski short

if you are looking for flotation go for the 190 (I use this size), feels like skiing a 185

if you are worried about turn radius go for 183
