Got Ticketed at Breckenridge

Haha, Vail resorts is not any where near going under. In fact, they are buying more and more resorts every year. Its gonna be a fucking monopoly pretty soon.

I think you would be surprised. Lift tickets and season passes if a resort is lucky will cover a fair portion of what it costs to run the resort. The only way they make up the rest and stay above water is through hotels/ real estate/ dining and other touristy stuff. Snowbird one of the most popular resorts in the West didn't turn a profit til 1995. 30 something years after they opened. I dont feel bad for anyone that gets caught using a borrowed pass, I wont borrow one or lend one out. Bad Karma.

Like i said, it isnt really stealing services. It was paid for. He was just replacing the other person who paid for it. Poaching is a different thing.

sorry bruh, it is stealing. in most cases passes are non-transferable. if the original passholder didn't agree to that term, then why did he sign the agreement?

Bingo, guaranteed the pass says non transferable in bold letters right on it. The idea of a transferable season pass is intriguing. But you would end up with scanners at every lift on the mountain.

this! its like anybody was holding you against your will or anything you just chose to stick around dumb people = dumb situations = dumb threads.

Dude Vail resorts is buying multiple new hills/resorts every year. No one would be doing that if they were going under. They are plenty well off and doing incredibly well money wise. I really don't think anyone can argue that.

To the argument over whether this is theft of services or not, yes it technically is. Like others have said the season passes are non-transferrable. But i'm not gonna sit here and bash the op because I would have probably done the same thing, but would have gone about it in a smarter manner. Either don't ride the lower lifts where they scan you every time, or get the fuck out of there after the first guy questions you. You could have completely avoided that situation pretty easily.

I was totally in line at the Beaver Run lift when I saw this going down. ( I was in a black and purp hoodie with tan pants) sorry bro that sucks.

To everyone saying how did you get detained if you had a facemask: At least at my resort (telluride) some of the lifties are ass holes and will ask you to uncover your face so that they can see that it matches the picture. Some lifties just care that much I guess

I understand that. Thats why i said in my post above that it obviously cant be legal, and im not saying it should be legal. I just said its really not a huge deal.

Nice, the old "I got caught cheating the mountain on a pass and now I'm mad" thread. We've only had 43 of these threads this year, so very refreshing. Congrats on being a fucking retard!

best way to avoide is to clip a ticket befor hand instead of using somone elses pass.. and what everyone else said u have free will to leave at any point untill detained. shoulda just left to avoide the ticket.

hire a lawyer to get out of paying for the ticket. im sure u would pay less than the ticket will cost.

Ya when I make it out there I try too also. Like last time I took 2 of the nature valley bars instead of 1. Take that chicken fuckers

I've been stopped at Park City before, where I work, because I bleached my hair (lost a bet), and they saw that under my facemask. They're wizards.

Enough east coast mountains don't have scanning so it's pretty easy to just walk onto the hill and get on the lift. I haven't bought a pass in like 2 seasons. Fuck it
