i imagine if they wanted to they could stick you with a reckless driving charge if they wanted to. i'd say at least 200.00 probably. you might get points on your licence if your state does that sort of thing. in the future man, chill. you're gonna kill someone. or yourself.
 
yeah, you're right i think it is 25 mph over the speed limit and your license is yanked. but that might just be in PA
 
You're probably going to lose your license for sure. Going more than 25 over at those speeds is actually a felony in a few states.

My friend got clocked doing 120 and somehow he's still driving though, so I don't know.

i got pulled over doing around 95 in a 55 zone.... in my dad's Porsche, with my girlfriend, without the registration or proof of insurance, and he gave me a verbal warning. had he searched the car, he would have found a few pipes, some papes, and about a half ounce under my seat, and i was on probation for possession of marijuana, so i'd have been FUCKED. the only thing i can figure was that the officer had fucked the shit out of his wife the night before and was still feeling good about it, because he had a golden opportunity to completely fuck me over and instead told me to slow down.

we need a little more info before we can even really begin to speculate what might happen to you. give us all the info on what went down and what exactly the ticket was written for.
 
i got caught doing 90 in a 65. the cop said he could take away my license, impound my car, and arrest me for reckless driving, on top of a $200+ ticket. instead he gave me a $125 ticket for doing 70 in a 65 and said if i plead not guilty (and go to court) then he will say i did 90 in court. i ended up having go to a 4 hour "operator retraining" course cause it was my 2nd ticket in 3 years and im under 25. i was pissed, but at least i didnt get arrested. def keeping the speed under control now
 
Ya I got pulled over going 80 in a 55 in my brand new WRX a few months ago, didn't even have plates on it yet haha. I got pulled over by a State Cop, they always fuck you in Michigan at least. He gave me a verbal warning and told me to drive safe. I think he let me off cause I had a 10 hour drive ahead of me.

I'm going to buy a Valentine 1 as soon as I get the cash. Super expensive, but the best radar detector on the market.
 
i'm in Michigan, too... my story happened just north of Harbor Springs and i was pulled over my a sheriff's deputy. i was arrested by the staties almost a year and a half ago... they clearly knew their shit and gave me a hard time before finding anything, but they were extremely professional once i was in custody. up until then, though... yeah, fuck cops.
 
I would have consulted a lawyer about that because if it said 70 on the ticket then in court he said you were going 90, to me that would look suspicious.
 
First off you are lucky as shit...second even if you werent on probation and were carrying weed just go the speed limit so they have no reason to pull you over...that's a dumbass move there...

The other day I'm driving through these backroads. I see a cop way ahead pulled someone over. By the time I get up there he was back in his hiding spot. I look at him as I drive by, he is facing the opposite direction. There is a car right in front of me we are both not speeding at all. We go by him, all of a sudden he puts on his lights and pulls up right on my ass. I'm like "Wtf? I didn't do anything wrong." I pull over, and he flies past me and pulls over the person on front of me. I don't even know what for, neither of us were speeding.
 
coming from a family who loves porsches and a proud member of pca. i love the year of the car but def not a fan of the targa. sorry man.
 
no worries, no offense taken. Porsche family and PCA members here, as well, and that's the thing i love most about 'em- they're all so similar in concept that there's certainly that Porsche feel, but they're so unique in their own ways that you might love one and hate another from the same era. personally, i really like the look of the Targa and am likely going to end up buying the car from my dad in the next few years (either that or buy my own), but there's a whole bunch of Porsches that i think are just a waste of their time. the entire Boxter, Cayman, and Cayenne lines, for example. but without those model lines, owning a 911 wouldn't be as prestigious. and while i say that, someone here might love those cars. power to 'em. Porsche does a pretty good job of producing a vehicle suitable for any sports car enthusiast. they're all built with the same principle and that's what's important.

I got hit doing 95 in a 65 on the Ohio turnpike. I thought I was in big trouble but all I had was a 95$ fine because it was my first offence in Ohio. And I didn't even get any points because I'm from PA. So Ohio has good traffic laws.
 
i got pulled over in wisconsin doing 91 in a 65, and the ticket was $265. and after i paid it, i got a letter saying my license was suspended for 15 days, and i had to pay $40 more to get it back. which i thought was really gay because i had already paid the ticket several weeks earlier, and assumed i had paid for my crime. the laws may be different depending upon the state you got pulled over in, but i would highly, highly recommend going to fight it. there is a high chance you will get it dismissed, and get it erased from your record. and you wont have to go through all of the bullshit i did.

jealous much? my dad's car cost less than 10 grand, costs only $250 A YEAR to insure, and is simply fun to drive, so how am i a rich kid (i assure you, i am not) being snobbish? if i was sitting here talking about how awesome Mustangs are or how sweet the new WRX is it would be totally fine, but since Porsches built and sold today are uber expensive, there's this mentality that because someone drives one, they're a cardigan wearing faggot who's too rich for their own good. well, fuck off- i love driving, is that a sin? and i have access to a quite affordable sports car that comes from a company with a great heritage, so do you really think i'm not going to take advantage of such a great opportunity? some families are baseball families, some are ski families, i come from a car, cigar, and scotch family, so fuck off if you have a problem with it. and sure, i associate myself with the brand to an extent. i like other cars, but there aren't really any other sports cars that i would want to spend any money on. i've actually been talking with my dad and looking around a lot in the Las Vegas area to find one like his, as they're stupid cheap for their quality. so fuck you if you have a problem with me saying my family is a Porsche family. i can't wait to get my first one and i definitely intend to make it a first in a collection of finely restored vintage Porsches.

i saw a kid going about that speed get pulled over today i was pumped casue i passed him, and then saw the overpass and knew a cop would bethere like always so i slammed on the brakes and the kid passed me and like 2 minutes later got stopped. i was pumped. he was driving a car with mad stickers on the back i dont know how he could ven see out the window
 
although i agree with the thing about these kids going way over the speed limit and stuff...don't be such a dickhead because their parents have more money than yours, and can afford better shit. is that their fault, no. it's your parents for not working harder (no offense here but this is how you sound)

Here is what bothers me about these immature kids, maybe i didnt make it clear enough in my first post. I dont care that their parents have nice cars. thats no problem at all. My father drives a mercedes and my mom a lexus, my uncle even has a porsche. I definitly have nothing against them for having money. What annoys me is the irresponsibility of it all. Yes my dad has a mercedes but i dont take it out and drive it 130. Driving that fast is retarded and it gets people killed. A lot of people are in here just claiming about their speeding tickets and how fast they drive. To me that shows very little maturity and add too it the fact that theyre driving their parents sports cars; it comes off as arrogant. It takes no skill or talent at all to get go fast, all you do is push down the pedal harder, wow. Like i said before, i dont care how much money you have but at least have some humility. to describe yourself as a "porsche family" in a thread like this just looks like you're trying to flaunt what you have.

summary: i find very little cool about driving excessively fast since it takes little skill. Bragging about speeding tickets and fast driving shows immaturity.
 
Dang, i bet if it was a Sheriff you would be getting a lot worse penalties. Dont know if anyone else notices, but Sheriffs are a lot nice with traffic violations, because they are already ranked as a sheriff. Normal cops on the other hand have to earn their way to do it, so i guess they have to be douchebags sometimes.
Oh and some advice... not speeding saves a ton of gas :).
 
you could do your research and ask them for the updated reports on the tune ups and check ups on the accuracy of the radar gun, because cops have to get those checked every year cause they wear out quickly. if it wasnt updated within the last year they have to throw the case because of faulty machinery.
