Got arrested for possession of marijuana

This was good. All your comments afterwards were blown entirely out of proportion for the most part. Should weed be legalized , yes and for numerous reasons including the irrefutable economic boom that has been projected as well as the sheer absurdity of the government's efforts to justify prohibition. However, to assume that marijuana legalization will serve as the stepping stone in fixing the incredibly corrupt and tarnished society we exist in is monumentally stupid. As far as I am concerned, if the US, and every other economically exhausted and socially crippled capitalist society, wishes to see true change it must start at the core, the government. Yet, to be honest, I have no faith that the government will wish to restore order to our damaged society because it is them, as well as the big businesses that have the government under their tumb, who benefit the most from it.

END RANT

You're exactly right, that change won't come until it benefits the people at the top. But in any real government that position should be held by the governed, the people in majority should have the final say. As of now, it doesn't matter how many people peacefully protest and write letters to their senators... we won't see change.
That's why I'm taking the next step forward and pointing out that really the only option left will turn out to be revolutionary change. I don't understand why people get so flaky when change of that magnitude is discussed, this isn't the first time we've reached a tipping point in human evolution and it won't be the last.
But now we are here so I'll just end this with some vibes to the OP and an open invitation to continue to discuss this elsewhere. I might be throwing together a cult for some outside-the-box discussions and to share some ideas... because in NSG people have no idea how to debate properly and it always ends in a sloppy argument.

Definitely agree with you on the cult. NSG usually ends up being a shit storm of social issues instead of its intended purpose. +vibes to OP

Your comment would be totally relevant and possibly funny if that hadn't been pointed out at least 5 times throughout this thread.

Jesus it was just an example, don't take an example too literal. So instead of an apple tree, how about a fruit that takes up the same space as a weed plant and grows at the same rate...

When analyzing something, in this case we're looking at weeds factor in revolutionary movements, you need to look for all possibilities/results.

And higninthesky, I watched that Venus project trailer and the guy has some decent points but I'd like to know how he plans on stopping children from learning greed. And how is he going to get all the money to even build his "ideal" replica city?

It's all about their upbringing... in our society we're raised to believe that certain things like greed are "human nature" and that we need to work hard and get on top which inevitably means someone else gets the short straw. We've lived in a society structured this way for so long that the gap between those who make it and those who don't has grown disturbingly large.
In a society like that envisioned by the Venus Project, there wouldn't be any need for such stupid perversions of the human condition because ideally we would have the technology to provide everyone with everything they needed to pursue their interests and passions. Then children raised this way wouldn't have any understanding of the need for vices like greed

Im assuming you have never hear of the word "gatekeeper". Here is a link so that you can get a better understanding.

Anyways. By setting an agreed upon agenda throughout media, It would be very easy to influence the general public over, say, a 5 year period. Of course this would be very private so that the effectiveness would not be at risk.

Agendas are constantly being set. Watch 5 different news station's news broadcast and notice the lack of attention payed to the war. (excluding recent soldier deaths on a medium/large scale and major steps forward, which can influence the media on a daily basis) So much bullshit is being placed on some broadcasters. In vietnam, every bit of the war was broadcast.

An example of how agendas can be changed.

the cop is a fucking retard, if he actually looked at your license, he would have seen that you live so close and he would have asked you if someone could pick up the car. what a dueche
