Hey I bought a macbook this summer, its the 2.4ghz intel chip with 2 gig of ram. I think its the latest version of the macbook before the silver one came out. I was wondering if it could handle video editing and if so what programs would be the best to download to start up (I like free, torrents are preferable :) I used to use premiere pro on pc but ive just recently switched over... yeeee fuck vista! ... until windows 7

Oh and the thread wouldn't be complete without, of course..... +karma

you will be fine. but if you plan on saving every single pic and vid of everything you do this season well you might wanna buy an external hd. but yes it can handle edits very well

you can get premiere pro again easily off the adobe website, or you could get final cut or just stick to imovie

what the fuck r u talking about asian. theres one right smack dab in the middle of the mother board. (i know this i took my macbook apart) you just cant up grade it

Not true the old macbooks have a bad video card the new aluminum one that I have has the same video card as the pro. Minus the fire wire port. So suck it BITCH!

Well in your original statement you didn't clarify that you were talking about the white macbook. It seemed that you were generally talking about all MacBook's in general.

if your looking for free programs, just use imovie. it actually works pretty decent once you figure out all the little tricks. if your planing on keeping all of the movies on your comp, i would recommend either getting an external hard drive, or buying, and installing a very large internal one yourself. I have the the same macbook as what you described, and one year from when i bought it the 60 gig hard drive went out. so i did some research, and bought a 300 gig one for about $100, and installed it all myself, it was actually pretty easy.
