i have a pair of those. they arent really all that waterproof. in spring sessions the jacket gets soaked.
 
postive its not a battle dress uniform.

and no, it was not used. it does take a lot to get wet though, ill give you that. bail twice into the spring slush/mud/water, and then it starts getting wet
 
there are pocket snaps where a liner is supposed to go, but i havent been able to find anywhere that sells the liners, so its just like a massive vent, on the front of my thighs. lets just say i dont wear them riding when its cold much
 
you all act like goretex is some magic material. goretex, like most other technical outerwear materials, have a coating of dwr(durable water repellant) or something similar to repel water off the fabric surface. this is in addition to the material's inherent ability to resist soakage. needless to say, once that coating starts wearing off, the material begins to soak a little. if you want absolute water proofness, get a raincoat. you know, those squeeky yellow ones..
 
Directions to waterproofing:

step 1. Purchase a garbage bag that is proportionate to one's body (colors and styles may be chosen to one's own discretion)

2. Locate the bottom center of the garbage bag, and cut a hole in it, slightly larger than one's head.

3. Cut 2 holes large enough for arms and shoulders.

4.Wear, and be dry.
