fuck gorilla fuck everything including tanner and pollard they didnt invent it its been around as long as there were sports. The gorilla stance is just a good athletic stance low to the ground were you are able to move quicky and are stable and well ballance and have a low center of gravity. Its just an athletic stance invented by some viking or roman 1000 years ago so use it if you want to

do whatever is comfortable for you. i agree, rails are easier with a lower center of gravity, so for me it is easier to come into a rail kinda squattin down a bit, but forget skiing like that, you suck if you ski like that, plain and simple

 
Gorilla sets us apart from arials and moguls. Skiing should be all about style, and obviously everyone has their own opinion. The first thing you are taught when you learn to ski, at least ski well, is to keep your hands out in front. But lets face it, that looks gay, and the Pollard/Tanner way of skiing looks and feels alot better.

i kinda of agree with pete here. You can't say they invented a stance. Its used because your center of balance is low and stable with your legs apart and you have to lean forward as you go off jumps, thats why your arms are down in front of you. Skateboarders, surfers, snowboarders, wakeboarders, every sport uses this.

Yeah, there was an interview in freeze last year and Tanner said that because he skiied moguls he had a whack style, so he worked on how he skiied.

Tanner had to force himself to learn how to have better style, but now that he has it it looks pretty natural, I dont think he puts that much effort into it. Also, today in gym class my teacher was like...in volleyball you have to have a low stance, like a gorilla kind of thing, and it was like gorilla steeze.

I think its relaxing to be somewhat crouched over but I dont exaggerate that much. I think Tanner's style is one of the best though.

as far as the steeze thing goes i think everyone can just lay it out however they please

but as far tanner goes i think hes an amazing skier and his style is great, but off the skis he makes himself look like a fool with his ganster style. i mean cmon this kid has white upper class written all over him

thats just my opinion, i could be wrong

I don't like Tanner Hall because his face is goofy looking, but I can appreciate his triacks and whatnot. Jon McMurray however is another story, his face is so cool looking. Damn...

ok but um.. is there any other ...types of steeze???? i don't think so... gorilla steeze is the most popular.. and eric pollard is the master.. look at his pic in dec. freeze from the cable cam... HE LOOKS like a FLYING GORILLA! and he has a pleasant face. Tanner looks like he ate shit.
