Get the black if you plan on doing much with the footage (editing). or get the silver if you have a tight budget and just want something to film with, its more similar to the hero 2.
If you want to look cool, I strongly recommend the No GoPro model. If you want people to stare at you and lol at you, any GoPro model will work equally well for this.

Look cool? What looks cool is doing good tricks with style and making them into good videos. Nobody likes the kid with a $2000 camera and does the same weak trick every time arms a' flailing. Just because its an inexpensive camera doesn't mean it isn't cool man.
