GoPro HD or Oregon Scientific ATC9k

ACHTUNG (scnr :p)

as I know what I want and only need to decide between these two candidates, my questions would be:

- is there a significant difference in quality between the two?

- is there a difference in audio quality?

- which camera offers the better helmet adapter?

- any thoughts on the wide array of straps/adapters coming with the ATC?

- finally, will my Notebook (Core2Duo T4300 (2x2,1GHz), 4GB RAM and a ATI HD4330 Mobility) be sufficient for HD editing?

Best prices in Germany:

Go Pro HD: 300€

ATC9k: 180€

What should I go for? Please help :]

I don't know anything about the other option but I own a go pro and can most certainly vouch for its super durability, and awesome footage.

It comes with a few decent mounts but all of the other ones are relatively cheap.
 
K, thanks for your help. I went for the ATC9K, as it was so much less expensive. Made some first shots today and was super happy about the results. The mount is super strong and stable and the image quality @720 is better than I thought.

That being said, in the US/CAN there is no price difference between GoPro & ATC9K.

I am in a similar dillemma. Let me know the more you use it. I really like the waterproof and the screen. Does it feel too big? or Heavy?
 
The first one I didn't really notice when comparing and the second one is by no means an indicator for quality itself.

@snakepirate: neither feels too big/bulky, nor to heavy. However, as with any helmet cam, you need to secure it so firm that it doesn't even wobbles if you shake your helmet violently. From what I have experienced so far, the screen definately is a huge plus. I honestly don't know how I'd do without one in terms of angle and contrast/white balance etc.

Also, I found the audio quality to be better than expected from a 20m waterproof cam.

I made some shots @ the London Freeze Festival and will be uploading them hopefully to my Vimeo account, just in case anyone is interested.
 
I have an oregon scientific, and let me tell you, it is complete shit. At least the one i have is terrible quality, really jerky, and not as easy to mount. Get a gopro for sure.
