GoPro HD help (if you own one, help me out!)

I'm thinking about getting a GoPro HD, and after checking the website FAQ they state your (Windows) comp will require these:

[*]Windows Vista or later

[*]3.2 GHz Pentium 4 or faster

[*]Direct X 9.0c or Later

[*]At least 2 GB of system RAM

[*]Video card with at least 256MB of RAM

Now 3.2GHz seems surprisingly high, is this REALLY necessary to edit in full HD?

Does anyone here run a Windows laptop at less/much less gHz than 3.2 and successfully edit in full HD?

Any information is appreciated. Thanks M&A
 
Well I have a 1.66ghz dual core, 1 gb of ram and I edit fine. On really long clips it gets choppy, but other then that it's pretty smooth.
 
You failed to read that fully. A 3.2ghz pentium 4 is probably slower than the A5 in the iPad 2. You should be fine with a newish computer
 
I can't believe you could even edit hd on a p4 period. If you don't want to be hating your life you need at least a 2.+ Ghz core2duo(or AMD equivalent). Even that will be fairly slow
 
i convert to prores on the way in, and get everything all set to go then let it render overnight

it really isnt too horrible, getting a new computer this spring
