Hey Ns, i emailed Gopro asking if it would have the 720p at 60fps option and this is what i got....

Hi Matteo

Thank you for your interest in GoPro.

The HD 960 is scheduled to be released at the end of this month or the beginning of next, though I can not guarantee this.

There will no longer be 720 at 60 fps but there will be WVGA at 60 fps.

Many thanks,

GoPro Support

Im probably getting it when it comes out.. I didnt know what WMGA was so i googled it and found out it was a kind of wide 480p... What is this going to look like?

I dont have enough knowledge about editing and frame rates in video, so I dont have anything to say about those facts..

I just want a GoPro..

well a gopro 960 will be $180 or so new. gopro HD's are new on ebay for around 240 - 250. which is what im going to buy. 60 - 70 dollars more for 1080p and 720p 60 fps.

but say one was uploading on youtube or vimeo, this would not make a difference unless viewed in fullscreen. Because youtube only views in 360p (default)

Correct me if i'm wrong

you can easily just click the 360p and it goes up, to 480p, then 720p, then 1080p, unless the max resolution of the clip is lower than that. And for some reason hd compressed down to sd looks better than regular sd. This is strictly speaking about cheap point and shoots though

yea but I'm saying if your just viewing in the small default screen. It won't make a difference if your watching in 1080p or 360p. Because there are only 360 pixels in that small area of screen

this is what wvga looks like out of the gopro. r1 on the current gopros

i dont really see the point of this go pro. I haven't been following it enough to see the differences but for 60 more you can get 1080p and 720p @ 60fps. I don't get what market they are trying to hit. Obviously the market that doesn't want to pay out the extra 60 bucks but for most people and extra 60 is a half days work.
