Fuck mobile and autocorrect screw everything up. Yeah mount it hanging from the bottom an go into the menu of the gopro so it's set for filming upsideown. Use the largest frisbee possible. What are you using this for?
in theory it would fly but not nearly as far. but thats assuming that OP can mount this in the exact center of the disk so that the disk's center or gravity is still directly in the center. plus the mount cant tilt the gopro by even the slightest once it is balanced or else itll throw off the balance.
I don't have a frisbee here, but someone grab a piece of wood or something the size and weight of a gopro and tape it to the top a frisbee and see if it still flies.
you people are thinking about this all wrong. static mount 10-15 gopros facing outwards around the edge of the disc and edit it so the image flows from one camera to the next to the next at the same speed as the disc is spinning. same concept as used by ken block in his gymkana video:
be sick to have a mount that is basically a parachute, that just wraps around the camera. When you toss it up it doesnt release but when it falls downward it does.
then it should work great. although even with the bearings it will no doubt still spin. the solution to that is to just have a little rudder taped onto the gopro so it will keep it pointed in one direction. good luck
I fly r/c helis and planes. My blade 400 would easily carry the gopro right below the skids. Pretty cheap heli, you just have to know how to fly them and you wont learn in a weekend....
Lol yeah thats why I'm starting with a frisbee. I know those things take mad skill to use but it's definitely a well worth investment. Especially when the wifi bacpac comes out
Nah, surprisingly theres already alot of people doing it. There is an article in powder or SBC about mike douglas and switchback entertainment, and they talk about using mike getting R/C helis in the backcountry. I would hate to fly glovless in the cold to. I should strap the gopro to the heli at somepoint soon, already had it on the fullscale airplane!
YES, i did this two years ago, and while the idea was kinda cool, the footage u get isn't that great. I mean, it's just spinning, a blur. Not sure what you would ant to use that with...
do you even know what a realy "frisbee" looks like? its not one of those dinky things you get from events.. disk golf uses smaller disks than ultimate and ultimates disks have a bigger rim, which makes it float better
Well honestly no Harry the Hater, I have no idea what a realy frisbee is...had to do a google image search...and Im still in the same boat. I would still be that a disk golf disk with a gopro would fly farther and straighter than an ultimate frisbee with the same setup. I have both kinds of disks, but no gopro to test.
I can see a golf disc working if i got the biggest one possible but I have zero experience with those and I have a handful of ultimate discs at disposed atm so thats why I'm using the 175g one
Just don't use bearings or hardware. Set your gopro to 60fps and tape it to the frisbee really well. Throw the frisbee and make sure whoever catches it catches it with the gopro facing them so that it will actually be somewhat interesting. Good luck dude
this if you already know how to fly a heli.get this if you dont. walkera mx400
for a relatively good price for a quadcopter. you could have it set ready to fly for about $450-$500
plus it would be wicked easy to make a mount, or you can buy a mount for it. gopro fits nicely under it. i currently have an e flight blade sr and so far ive put about 12 packs through it and am just started to try figure 8's. a lot harder than you would expect.
