GoPro footage problem?

There is about 10 different files and they are all in mp4. They all play perfectly in VLC.

But when I try to put them into Premiere to edit them I have some problems.

Some of them just play as an audio file, some show up as video files but just display green and some work fine.

Im not too familiar with this Premiere because its my friend's, but I know my way around many different editing programs.

Does anybody know whats going on?

What's the computer setup like? When I used Premiere in the past I wasn't able to preview much of anything on my slower computer. It's a possibility that's an issue.

The computer is pretty good, but i just checked and its running without a graphics card.

So that could be a problem with how its playing back, but it wouldnt explain why some of them work and some dont.

Its like the program recognizes them as different file types, when they are actually all the same.

you in CS4 or CS5? You can go natively into CS5, but for CS4 you'll have to transcode before loading into premiere

I think there might also be a problem with the files themselves.

But thanks, It worked for a couple of them haha.
