GoPro Fisheye??

gopro IS wide angle. that's how the camera is. a little research and you would realize this.

They made a normal lens one. It sucked and no you can't make it fisheye at all, you need a new camera.

wide angle isn't always fisheye, a little research and you would realize this. In all honestly this isn't really that bad of a question, some people just want a wider field of view.

haha relax, it's like you blow a line before every post you make. DO YOU KNOW WHAT A GO PRO IS WHAT THE FUCK! IT'S ALREADY WIDE ANGLE YOU DICKBAG! ..WHERE ARE MY FUCKING KEYS?? I'M GONNA GO SMOKE A FUCKING CIGARETTE

no. seriously if the OP had done just a little bit of research he would know the answer to his question. this is fucking retarded.

well, i happen to know that the gopro is like 170* view, but if you just hear "wide angle lens" it's not the CRAZIEST thing to wonder if you can make it wider, certainly nothing to lose any sleep over. and i thought they had a non wide angle go pro?

Since nobody else will give you a straight answer...

No, you cannot get a fisheye for a gopro, 2 reasons why:

1. It has no threads that you can screw a lense to.

2. It has practically a 180 degree lense, and a fisheye is used, not to get a cool effect, but so you can get closer to what you are filming

My guess is that you don't own a gopro and know that it already creates a semi distorted effect, and that you can get extremely close to the subject your filming. A fisheye will not increase how good your skate edits are, and infact can look much better without them

haha i dont think you want much more than 171 cause anything more than 180 you will see what s behind you and i dont think thats posible

are there actually lenses out there that go beyond 180° ?
i wouldn't know why it shouldn't be possible but i have never seen/heard about it ...care to enlighten me ?

Good job that didn't prove anything... That wasnt a gopro and he made that... You can make anything you want, but they don't MAKE any lenses for a gopro and there is ABSOLUTELY NO NEED for one

from the OP "Does anyone know if you can buy or make a fisheye for it?"

ha, you guys are such pricks, and "ABSOLUTELY NO NEED"? who are you to say? Nothin' but bandwagon sassy no-it-alls.

to shoot the EXTREME! who cares what he wants it for, maybe to look all around the inside of his ass.

Maybe he wanted to get both his skis and the run in the frame. Maybe he wants to shoot in full 1080, and doesn't want to get jipped by gopro's narrow field of view at that resolution. The answer is always to fit more into the frame. fuck, why even go to 171 degrees? 100 is all you need! just scoot back to get more in the shot!

the gopro website sayswide angle so, if you did want to try a fisheye, i got this kit for my digi cam that is pretty sick. it had a magnetic ring that adhered to the outside of the lens, then you could attach a small fisheye lens that was also magnetic. it wasnt cheesy, i still use it. you could proly put it on the housing of the go pro.the opnly reason i gave this the time of day is cuz eheath sux and hes always wrong. /thread

I looked at that video the OP linked too, and was entertained by the uber-nerdiness of the vid guy, and found this in his other vids: super legit!

Have you never seen one used in a skate edit. They look pretty sick. Most of the gopro commercials have a skating shot. I'm surprised you haven't seen one considering you clearly never get your fat ass of NS and there have been some in commercials posted. And who cares about if you want more than 171 view. Wide screen edits look sick, all about trying new things
